Project Description:
A seasoned data engineering consultant is needed to design, develop and deliver high quality data migrations and data integrations for scientific research capabilities. This includes reagent inventory and ordering application and other scientific systems. A successful candidate must have strong independent data engineering and advanced SQL development skills but also be able to contribute significantly to analysis, prototype and design activities. The ability to thrive in an agile iterative and highly collaborative team environment is a must.
  • Design, develop and deliver high quality data migration of from current environment to new system.
  • Design, Implement and support Data Models, data development and migration.
  • Build fault tolerant, self-healing, adaptive and highly accurate data migration and integration capability.
  • Develop and support on source systems, ETL applications, data cleansing functions and load automation.
  • Responsible for data quality, SQL and data migration performance tuning.
  • Develop design documentation, Installation Guides and Release Notes for all development efforts.

Required Skills:
  • Advanced expertise in data analysis, data engineering, data query, data integration and data migration.
  • 8+ years' technical experience in database development using Oracle, PL/SQL and SQL performance tuning.
  • Experience in creating mapping using disparate data sources such as flat files, excels, databases, xml files and/or unstructured data & web services.
  • Extensive experience with analyzing and designing data models, SQLs, and PL/SQLs.
  • Strong data profiling and data quality technical skills. Strong hand on skills in Unix shell/perl scripting.
  • Good understanding of Data Partitioning, Speed Optimization, Table Structures.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills are required.
  • Ability to work independently and as a key contributor in a distributed team environment.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to think outside the box to come up with innovative ideas.
  • Bachelor's Computer Science or a related discipline. Advanced degree preferred. Biopharmaceutical R&D experience is a strong plus.
