SCIENTIST - IMMUNOLOGIST
REDWOOD CITY, CA

Project Description:
The Immuno-Oncology department is seeking a talented and enthusiastic individual to play a critical role in supporting an early stage program. In this role, the successful candidate will be involved in the downstream processing and analysis of blood and tissues in mouse tumor models by flow cytometry.
  • This position will involve performing in vitro assays with tumor and/or myeloid cell populations, including cell binding and functional assays.
  • In this role, the successful candidate will be involved in designing, performing and analyzing experiments, and maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in electronic notebooks.
  • This role also requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work across multiple groups.
  • We are looking for a self-motivated, detail-oriented, adaptive individual that has a keen interest in learning to join our highly collaborative and innovative team.
Required Skills:
  • A B.S. with a minimum of 5 years of experience, or an M.S. with a minimum of 3 years of academic/industry experience with strong scientific knowledge and research experience in immunology or cancer biology is required.
  • Proficiency in multi-color flow cytometry (FACS) analysis and basic molecular and cellular techniques including cell culture is essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with people is required.
  • Experience working with myeloid cells in vitro is highly desired.
  • A background in innate immunity is highly desired.
  • Experience with ex vivo pharmacology, including tissue processing is highly desired.
  • Strong record-keeping and organizational skills are needed.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, GraphPad PRISM and other statistical programs is a plus.
