SCIENTIST WITH IMMUNOLOGY AND FACS EXPERIENCE
LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ

Project Description:
Seeking a highly motivated researcher to join the Translational Sciences department at the Client's Lawrenceville, NJ site who will be responsible for conducting, analyzing, and reporting experiments for driving scientific discovery forward with novel assay implementation to support exploratory biomarker studies for clinical immuno-oncology programs. A successful candidate should be experienced in cellular immunology.
  • Primary responsibilities include the isolation, characterization, and culture of human primary T-cells and other immune cell subsets in particular from blood, tissues, and tumors.
  • Emphasis will be placed on designing, developing, and performing robust ex vivo phenotyping flow cytometry assays as well as cellular assays that incorporate functional readouts, including antigenic stimulation, proliferation, cytokine production, and cytotoxicity using multi-parameter flow cytometry and related technologies.
  • Individuals should be interested in working in a challenging and fast paced environment to impact clinical research programs.
  • One will have the ability to work on cutting-edge 18-20+ parameter flow cytometry experiments to answer pressing questions posed to our exploratory clinical biomarker team.
  • The successful candidate will be expected to communicate scientific results and ideas in support of our translational research efforts

Required Skills:
  • BS in biological sciences with a minimum of 2 - 4 years of laboratory experience in immunology or tumor immunology would be a plus; MS including at least 1 - 2 years of research laboratory experience; or PhD with applicable experiences during graduate school training.
  • Must have hands-on experience in multi-color flow cytometry (>8-color FACS) required. (This includes all aspects of flow cytometry experiments including performing staining experiments of at least 6-8 colors, FACS machine usage, and data analysis (e.g. FlowJo)). Experience using BD FACS Diva software is a plus.
  • Expertise in immune cell isolation from whole blood (tissues or tumors is highly valuable) and experience with primary cell culture techniques.
  • Developing and executing ex vivo phenotyping flow cytometry assays
  • Functional immune cell assays such as T-cell proliferation, cytokine production, Luminex, ELISPOT, and ELISA would be a plus
  • Position requires ability to work independently and as part of a larger team. Therefore, excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and strong interpersonal skills are necessary.

The expectation would be this could be a 2-year contract and would begin ASAP.
