Project Description:
Client is a supply chain services company that provides unique primary and secondary packaging and logistics solutions. Our Cranbury, NJ operation, specializes in primary/secondary contract packaging services for food and confectionary manufacturers.

This position provides QA leadership for the Cranbury, NJ operation by developing, implementing and maintaining the facility's Quality Systems to ensure we repack food and confectionary products that meets or exceeds our customer's requirements. This position focuses on Quality Systems, Food Safety and other support areas, such as sanitation, specifications and procedures. The QA Manager brings significant knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, AIB, SQF and regulatory compliance. The QA Manager monitors and advises on how the quality management system performs, publishes data and reports company performance against set indicators. When necessary the QA Manager develops or revises procedures\systems and provides tools\ techniques to enable others to achieve quality.
  • Oversees, directs, and manages the Quality Assurance function to ensure highly disciplined compliance with all product and process quality parameters/ standards, client's standard operating procedures and external customer requirements.
  • Lead the process of moving from a quality control minded organization to a quality assurance minded organization.
  • Lead and manage support programs that include but are not limited to environmental monitoring program, food safety, allergen control, HACCP, pest control management, and etc.
  • Develop, implement and manage the quality assurance systems to achieve SQF Level II certification.
  • Oversee the corrective action and preventative action (CAPA) system and support Operations in embedding systemic corrective and preventative actions regarding internal and third party audit deficiencies.
  • Manage and operate as the plant representative for the client's Document Control system.
  • Manage external audits (customer and 3rd party audit facilities (AIB, SQF, etc). This includes arranging audits, training, and preparation, issue and close out findings, reporting, tracking, elevation of issues.
  • Oversees and manages the internal audit program (quality system and GMP). This includes arranging audits, training, and preparation, issue and close out findings, reporting, tracking, elevation of issues.
  • Lead activities that empower, engage, and involve Operations with the information and tools for continuous improvement in facility manufacturing processes.
  • Performs all other duties and / or projects as required.

Required Skills:
  • Bachelor Degree in Food Science.
  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in Quality Assurance in the Food Industry.
  • Pharmaceutical experience, CFR Part 211.
  • Supervisory/ management experience is required.
  • Demonstrated exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Certified SQF Practitioner.
  • HACCP Certified.
  • Experienced in FDA regulations.
  • Able to work in a high paced, production environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Self-directed and self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
  • Passion and alignment with our mission, vision, values and operating principles.
  • Bi-lingual English – Spanish, a plus.

This is a 3+ month contract-to-hire.
