Project Description:
The company has established a Knowledge Marketplace and a Global Knowledge Exchange to enable capture and reuse of operations good practices and other lean practices. Since June, there have been 1,500 submissions to the FMC Knowledge Marketplace with continued growth expected.
  • The Knowledge Management Scientist (KM Scientist) will apply their life sciences experience and knowledge management expertise to facilitate submissions through the local, FMC Knowledge Marketplace and into the Global Client Exchange as well as cascading global knowledge and practices back to FMC (Frederick Manufacturing Center).
  • KM Scientist will perform ongoing qualitative review of new submissions for accuracy/correctness, requesting feedback from submission owners for corrections or additional information.
  • Monthly, KM Scientist will quantitatively downselect "good practice” submissions to a list of 10-15 items using criteria such as:
    • Alignment with industry best practices
    • Reduction in complexity
    • System integration
    • Efficiency
    • Regulatory
    • Safety
  • Monthly, KM Scientist will review the refined list with the Knowledge Management Champion, supporting the requirement to promote 1 "good practice” to the global Knowledge Exchange.
  • Using the criteria's established for "good practices”, expand quantitative assessment to other knowledge areas.
  • Monthly, review global knowledge exchange submissions from other Client sites and perform quantitative assessment for potential implementation at FMC.
  • Meet with local Senior Leadership Team members and/or area owners to share and/or assess selected global Client submissions for feasibility at FMC.
  • Create a tool and define metrics to assess the application and adoption of global best practices at FMC.

Required Skills:
  • Knowledge Management submissions range across all area of biologics site operations, so biologics or pharmaceutical leadership experience is a must.
  • Strong background of knowledge management is required.
  • Familiarity and skill with web based solutions (including SharePoint) a must.

This 12+ month position starts ASAP.
