IT Communications Specialist
Boise, Idaho (Remote Till Covid)
The velocity and complexity of work today – not to mention always-evolving technologies and ever-shrinking attention spans – means it's harder than ever to make messages stick. The pace at which we are providing new technologies is outpacing our ability to make people aware of them and to leverage these tools, services, and capabilities to their advantage.
IT is more than a service organization – we are a valuable strategic partner across the Micron enterprise. A digitally fit global workforce is required to achieve Micron's business goals, and it takes an informed and fully engaged IT team to enable that workforce.
The Communications Specialist will report to the ITTCLS Manager and will have direct and regular contact with a variety of Micron personalities to generate content around current IT projects, strategic initiatives, leadership messaging, and awareness campaigns. One day may be spent interviewing an IT operations manager to get some basic questions answered, and the next may be spent determining the right deliverables to align to a strategic communication plan or managing a comm timeline.
The ideal candidate must be able to work independently, manage multiple activities at once, set priorities, and take the initiative. Concise and clear communication skills with a personable approach are essential requirements. Candidates should also be comfortable interacting with a diverse cast of characters – from long-time leaders to highly technical software engineers.
