Project Manager
Location: Austin, TX (Must be able to work onsite and do a FTF Interview)
4-5 MO Contract with abaility to extend
Worker performs advanced project management work with responsibility for the day-to-day coordination of a team of project managers. The worker will have knowledge of all phases of applications systems analysis, development or operational multiple-phase projects for which they have responsibility. The worker will manage day-to-day execution of design, development, testing and implementation activities; actively encourage and facilitate communication between business analysts, development, QA teams, business customers and/or system and data administrators; and ensure that system requirements are documented, complete, accurate and approved. The worker will provide management, assessment, mentoring and training of project team members including:
• Evaluating and documenting as-is project management processes and methodology;
• Developing, documenting and training team members on to-be project management processes and methodology;
• Providing coaching, training and mentoring of FTE project managers;
• Provide a teaching model of successfully managing a small-medium project from beginning to end. |
Minimum Requirements:
Years Skills/Experience
8 Experience with project management techniques and strategies, system development life cycle (SDLC) processes, and/or infrastructure and operational projects, defining and solving problems, estimating and scheduling resources, producing project documentation, developing and implementing plans and work breakdown structures.
8 Experience participating and leading project meetings to communicate status and stay informed on issues that may impact projects; ability to prepare and explain complex information and provide presentations, briefings, and proposals to a diverse audience.
8 Experience managing projects to deploy IT solutions that include working with technical teams, project managers, business partners, management, vendors, sub-contractors and end users.
5 Experience and ability to train others in project management theory, practical application, industry standards and best practices
5 Experience in ensuring the delivery of IT services through oversight of Service Level Agreements (SLA) with end users/contractors and monitoring of IT system performance.
5 Experience reviewing, monitoring, and evaluating project deliverables and quality; ability to communicate project status and explain project methodology and processes
to project stakeholders; ability to identify potential project risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
5 Extensive verbal and written communication skills
3 Experience as supervisor, manager or technical leader
3 Skill in developing, driving, documenting and maintaining strategic and operational governance processes, standards and procedures for users.
3 Experience with project management software and scheduling tools, such as, MS Project or CA Technologies Clarity
3 Ability to convey complex and highly-technical information to a diverse audience; ability to work cooperatively with technical teams and business customers in a professional office environment; ability to provide excellent customer service
3 Skill in negotiating, influencing, leading, delegating, consensus building and conflict management; Skill in strategic planning, risk management and change management Skill in planning and organizing work to meet goals and complete multiple assignments without compromising accuracy
1 Understanding of data center environment, client architectures, operating systems structures, application virtualization to ensure predictability, continuity, and quality of project deliverables
Preferred
Years Skills/Experience
1 Certification as a Project Management Professional, or similar (PMP)
1 Knowledge and experience with the Texas Child Support program or Texas Child Support Enforcement Systems
1 Knowledge of the Department of Information Resources Data Center Services program; State of Texas Procurement program
