Work Schedule: 5 x 10's
Work Hours: 6am-4pm (or) 7am-5pm Mon-Fri (weather permitting)
Overtime is required - up to 10 hrs per week
US Citizens or Perm Resident - OK
A baseline medical exam will be REQUIRED for everyone hired, prior to them starting (at Parsons expense)



40 HOUR HAZWOPER CERTIFICATION - REQUIRED (not reimbursable)
8 HOUR REFRESHER COURSE - Reimbursable by Parsons (if needed)

MANAGER COMMENTS:
We are looking for 3-4 total people to support geophysical field efforts in TN or KY.
We are looking for 1-2 experienced folks (Site Geophysicist) with 5 to 10 years experience with EM61-MK2, RTK GPS, and 2-3 field people (Field Geophysicists), with no geophysical experience, willing to work outside for the entire duration of contract, and to get trained on geophysical data collection.
Local people in area of TN, KY would be preferable for the inexperienced field folks.

FIELD GEOPHYSICIST/LABORERS (NO Geophysical exp. required)
(LOCALS strongly preferred)

Under direction supervision of a project geophysicist, site geophysicist, and project manager, a Field Geophysicist performs a variety of data collection tasks using geophysical and GPS equipment to support remedial investigation or removal action projects at formerly used defense sites with potential unexploded ordnance contamination.

Primary Duties and responsibilities of a Field Geophysicist include:
• Acquiring EM61-MK2 data
• Performing field tasks requiring the application of basic geophysical principles and theories
• Performing anomaly reacquisition using EM61-MK2 and Real Time Kinematic GPS sensors
• Conducting or monitoring daily quality control tests of equipment and methods and documenting test results

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in geophysics, geology, environmental science, or related engineering or science degree and 0 to 3 years experience
• Good written and oral communication skills
• 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER Certification preferred (employee will need to take the 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER class if they do not already have that certificate).

DESIRED EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience with field geophysical data acquisition using the EM61-MK2
• Experience with field geophysical data acquisition using RTK GPS equipment

Employee will be part of the company's medical monitoring program.

SITE GEOPHYSICIST (Experienced Geophysicists)
(Per Diem offered)

Qualified professional with 5 to 10 years experience with Geophysics, proficient in utilizing most of the relevant theories and practices of the discipline. The Site Geophysicist leads the field component of the geophysical investigation and manages the field teams performing the geophysical data acquisition.

Primary Duties and responsibilities of a Site Geophysicist include:
• Acquiring EM61-MK2 data and train Field Geophysicists to acquire geophysical data
• Tracking QC information in an Access-format data base
• Performing field tasks requiring the application of basic geophysical principles and theories
• Writing geophysics sections of work plans and reports for CERCLA RI and remediation projects
• Performing anomaly reacquisition using EM61-MK2 and Real Time Kinematic GPS sensors
• Conducting or monitoring daily quality control tests of equipment and methods and documenting test results
• Processing EM61-MK2 data using Geosoft's Oasis Montaj software
• Interpreting geophysical data

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in geophysics, geology, environmental science, or related engineering or science degree and 5 to 10 years related work experience, including experience as a team leader.
• Experience with field geophysical data acquisition using the EM61-MK2 G-858, and other geophysical equipment.
• Experience with field geophysical data acquisition using RTK GPS equipment
• Proficiency in both written and oral communication
• Strong technical and problem solving skills, attention to detail
• 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER Certification preferred (employee will need to take the 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER class if they do not already have that certificate).

JOB REQUIREMENTS FOR BOTH POSITIONS:

• Performing physical demanding tasks and working 10-hour days in adverse field conditions (cold, hot, high wind, dusty environment, rough terrain) in remote locations.
• The expected duration of this project is 3 months.
