Position: Application Report Developer

Application Report Developer with detailed
knowledge and experience of application development and report creation through the combined use of SQL queries, Microsoft (MS) development platform technologies, and reporting tools, preferably Crystal Report and Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS). The Application Report Developer is responsible for helping one or more projects and units within CalSTRS to create reporting applications that integrate various types of reports using data mined and aggregated from multiple sources. In addition, this Application Report Developer is also responsible for establishing, standardizing, and maturing Client's overall enterprise reporting framework including tools, platforms, methodologies, processes, and best practices, etc. The Application Report Developer will work within the Technology Services branch.

At least ten (10) years of experience working as a report developer or application developer using Microsoft development platform technologies.
b. At least eight (8) years of experience developing complex SQL queries; developing detailed SQL reporting specifications; aggregating, analyzing, validating, and/or reconciling data from heterogeneous data sources.
c. At least five (5) years of experience monitoring the performance of reports or reporting applications and taking corrective action to optimize or improve the performance of the reports when necessary.
d. At least five (5) years of experience working with Microsoft DBMS.
e. At least three (3) years of experience working with Business Objects or MS SQL Server Reporting
Services in the areas of data warehousing, enterprise business data reporting, and metadata registry.

Desirable Technical Qualifications
It is desirable for the proposed project person to have the following listed experience, knowledge, skills and abilities as evidenced by Attachment II, Proposed Person Skill Summary Sheet:
a. Two (2) or more years of experience designing and implementing business intelligence (BI) reports using various BI reporting tools.
b. Experience as a .NET Application Report Developer leading or participating in the technical implementation of pension/retirement related software development projects
c. Experience working with legacy mainframe applications
d. Experience working with Electronic Content Management and document capture systems.
e. Experience producing business reporting requirements, data requirements, reporting tool/platform architecture, report specifications, test cases for report testing, and other technical documents related
to report development.
f. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields from an accredited or government sanctioned college/university
