Quality Technician I

Works under the direction of the Plant Quality Lead and in close proximity with the Value Streams to execute quality tasks for product received, returned, and shipped.


1. Assists in the development and improvement of the incoming and outgoing inspection process.
2. Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and other related documentation.
3. Interacts with internal customers to accurately document quality issues.
4. Documents and maintains nonconformance reports and effectively communicates issue.
5. Enters transactions to appropriately move material and creates Non-Conforming Material Report (NCMR) to detail the reasons. Assigns action items to appropriate person and follows up on resolution.
6. Participates in Corrective Action Teams (CAT) and/or High Performance Teams (HPT) and assists in identification of root causes and corrective actions.
7. Inspects material returned from customers; dispositions, and submits credit requests timely.
8. Maintains, controls, updates, and distributes quality system documentation.
9. Follows established safety and environmental policies, procedures and methods applicable to the work environment.


• Associates in Applied Science degree or a high school diploma with equivalent experience (minimum of 1 years in a quality or inspection role in a manufacturing environment).

• 2 – 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Working experience in an ISO environment is preferred.

• Ability to follow directions with an attention to detail.
• Working knowledge of part drawings and appropriate tools to measure features.
• Basic electrical knowledge for testing functionality of electrical components.
• Knowledge of inspection techniques, quality/statistical tools, instruments/equipment, and general business operations.
• Computer skills including MS Office, Lotus Notes and ability to learn Parker business systems.
• Ability to effectively communicate to team members and leaders.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to effectively work in a team oriented atmosphere to establish and maintain effective quality systems as well as taking appropriate corrective action to continually improve.
