Position Description
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Assembles machines, equipment, and their subassemblies following blueprints and other written and verbal specifications.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Assembles product, following specifications.
2. Drills, taps, or reams holes.
3. Aligns components, bolts and screws.
4. Tests or assists in testing completed product.
5. Size, cut and apply insulation following specifications.
6. Follows established safety and environmental policies, procedures and methods applicable to the work area.
7. Performs other duties as necessary.

Duties and Responsibilities
QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

EXPERIENCE:
• 1 – 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

SKILLS:
• Basic knowledge of hand tools such as tape measure, wrenches, drills, etc.
• Ability to read from a schematic.

Start: 1:20 PM, 2:20 PM, or 3:20 PM (based on when first shift finishes)
End: 9:40 PM, 10:40 PM, 11:40 PM, 12:40 PM, or 1:40 PM (based on start time and length of shift)



POSITION SUMMARY:
Assembles various types of filters. Performs such duties as stapling, applying wrap to pleats, capping, assembling tubes and springs, spot welding, seaming, spinning, spinning adhesive/plastisol, cutting media, wrap or other material as required. Applying gaskets and inspecting. May require tucking and filter repair, packaging and stacking of product.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Position requires knowledge equivalent to high school. Approximately three months experience is necessary to develop skills and knowledge to perform proficiently.

SPECIAL EQUIPMENT OR OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Operates various assembly equipment. Must be able to read and understand product specs and procedures. Must be able to read a tape measure, temp. gauges and stop watches. May require basic computer knowledge.

Production Supervisor or Department Manager

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Good attendance is an essential function of this position.

2. Assembles various types of filters, as needed.

3. Completes first piece inspection on products.

4. May spin, apply adhesive and/or plastisol to products or components.

5. May cut media, wrap, or other material, as required.

6. May perform spot welding, debossing, seaming, on filters or components.

7. May perform packing and inspection of product.

8. Must complete all quality data and product reports, as needed.

9. Must meet daily performance requirements.

10. May require minor computer use for daily M.O.'s and inventory adjustments.

11. Complete daily, weekly or monthly inventories, as required.

12. Must be able to read, understand and have knowledge of all procedures and to meet requirements of these procedures relating to manufacturing of product.

13. Responsible for good housekeeping in work area.

14. May have required lifting, pushing or pulling objects, weighing up 25 lbs. & up

15. Secures assistance from supervisor to correct defects or deficiencies as they occur.

16. Performs special projects, as requested by supervisor.
