Job Description: Education and Experience:
Associate degree in design recommended combined with a minimum 5 years design experience in the design and installation of piping systems.

Typical applications included in experience:
1. Applied knowledge of engineering processes for the development of prototypes or other original concepts
2. Must work safely and obey PPE requirements
3. Microsoft computer skills - Word, EXCEL, PowerPoint, Outlook

Job Scope:
The candidate will provide piping design support for plants and facilities in Midland, Michigan and/or small North American production sites. Support requirements will include a combination of capital, expense and plant support projects. The candidate will apply leadership skills with technical knowledge as a piping designer.

Job Skills:

1. Generates rough sketches or schematics to develop engineering concepts into visual designs
2. Proficient at reading P&ID's and transferring to mechanical design
3. Specifies dimensions and other data for layout or detailing
4. Develop and layout of original drawings
5. Make revisions and adjustments to design as directed by engineer
6. Knowledge of 2D design required
7. Preferred knowledge of 3D design


Additional Technical Skills/Knowledge (Demonstrates Ability):
1. Demonstrates knowledge of Pipeline Schedule, Tie Point Schedule and Piping Demo Schedule
2. Demonstrates knowledge of isogens
3. Demonstrates ability to check connectivity of components on equipment/P&ID versus pipe specs
4. Demonstrates knowledge of proper instrument installation and instrumentation installation requirements
5. Demonstrates knowledge for determining lines that require stress analysis and assembles documents for analysis to be done by pipe stress engineer
