On Call: Occasionally during the week and every 3rd weekend
Weekend/Holiday Rotation Requirements: Every Other Weekend and holiday
Required Licenses and Certifications: IL License and ABCP Certified
Minimum Experience (yrs in specialty): 2 years
Charting Experience: Required or Preferred (please highlight/select one): Epic
Unit Information (Bed size, Case types, Patient ratios, etc.): Assemble, operate and monitor perfusion equipment to by-pass the function of the patient's heart and lungs and the extracorporeal cicuit to measure blood flow through the patient's vessels during open heart surgery.
Must possess a working knowledge of heart-lung equipment, anatomy, physiology and pharmocology obtained by graduation from an accredited school of Perfusion. Must maintain current certification for continued employment. Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age appropriate care to all patients/family served. Must meet requirements for maintenance of certification.
This is an adult only program consisting of 430 open heart procedures per year. Additional procedures include TAVR, VAD, ECMO, Angiovac, and PRP.
