midnights (11:15PM – 7:15AM 5 days a week every other weekend)
• Driver's License # and state of issuance

The purpose of the job is to function as patient care manager coordinating unit operations, on the assigned shift, to ensure continuity of care and treatment goals. The incumbent provides clinical direction to non-professional nursing staff by delegating work and assignments appropriately while providing feedback to the employees regarding behavior and performance.
Adheres to the ANA standards of care for psychiatric nurses.
Perform duties within the scope of practice as defined by the nurse practice act.
Demonstrates the ability and knowledge to perform a head to toe assessment.
Demonstrates the ability to interpret vital signs and all test results providing the appropriate intervention(s) as needed.
Demonstrates the ability to recognize signs and symptoms of medical and psychiatric illnesses. communicating findings to the physician,nurse practitioner or psychiatrist.
Adhers to the recovery role model to prevent restraint and seclusion.
Experience with the administration and effects of medications.
Administers medications accurately according to policy and procedure with safety precautions.
Assigns and supervises staff medication administration.
Knowledgeable on policies and procedures and ensures they are followed.
Communicates procedural or other changes to the staff.
Maintains competency and skills in CPR/AED, Bridge Building, IV, TB, accucheck, Reliable Health System, Medselect and Avatar.
Participates on treatment team collaborating with all disciplines.
Provides immediate feedback to subordinates regarding performance and behavior.
Ensure that HIPPA regulations are followed to ensure patient confidentiality.
Provides groups,education and counseling to clients.
Directs staff in providing patient care.
Ensures the safety of both patients and staff.
Demonstrates an understanding of infection control practices and utilizes standard precautions.
Adhere to the problem oriented documentation format.
Transcribes orders accurately and legibly.
Assesses and intervenes with agitated, psychotic, escalating patients with focus on patient and staff
Current license as a Registered Nurse in Indiana.
Bachelors Degree or Associate Degree from an accredited school of nursing. Associate Degree accepted with three (3) years full-time professional experience in developmental disability, geriatric, or psychiatric nursing.
Knowledge of basic computer skills.
Certified in professional rescuer CPR/AED, IV, and TB.
Excel in both written and verbal interpersonal & communication skills.
Must be able to work overtime.
Diffucility to work
Work is complex utilizing critical thinking skills and evidenced based practice daily. The nurse would consult the assistant director of nursing,director of nursing, service line manager, treatment team members, physicians and hospital policies and procedures to ensure that standards of practice are being met on the unit.
Works with a moderate degree of independence. He/she is responsible planning and managing patient care on the unit. Decisions are made with daily input from, and can be overruled by the assistant director of nursing, nurse supervisor,director of nursing, treatment team, physician or service line manager. Detection of errors would be moderately high. The consequenses or an error could cause injuries to the patient or employee with liability to the institution.
Work is performed in a psychiatric hospital offices, on the units and occasionally outside off grounds.
