Associate Mfg Process Technician - AFP

Supports Client Thousand Oaks Dispensing Team by performing tasks associated with picking, dispensing, and issuing, materials required for the production of a biopharmaceutical product. The position requires strict adherence to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP's), operating Powered Industrial Vehicles (PIV's), safe weighing of chemicals, use of validated computer systems, ability to accurately complete documentation, make calculations and perform physical tasks associated with large scale pharmaceutical manufacturing. The successful applicant may be cross trained to support other areas including Inventory Management, Warehouse Operations, GMP Receiving, and/or Distribution. Responsibilities include: • Reconciliation, receipt and labeling GMP materials • Picking materials from SAP inventory as required by Planning • Material issuance and take-outs utilizing MES Client-X system • Working in a gowned Class 100,000, Grade 8 environment • Material handling/dispensing and associated cleaning • Staging materials for transport and delivery • Conducting inventory counts and completing inventory discrepancy forms • Completing all transactions in a timely and accurate manner. • Consistently follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and departmental policies. • Daily workload is accomplished through group effort, so the successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively. • Identifying and reporting operational issues and process improvement opportunities. • Operating Powered Industrial Vehicles (PIV's) • Adherence to safe working practices • Support other Warehouse functions with receipt, storage, dispensing, delivery, transfer, reconciliation, or shipment of materials per procedures and regulations

Basic Qualifications • Experience working in Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical or Chemical Industries • Must be able to lift up to 35lbs and push/pull heavy loads using material handling equipment • Must be willing to operate Powered Industrial Vehicles (PIV) • Understanding of GMP's and SOP's • MS Office familiarity

Preferred qualifications • Polished GMP professional with Warehousing, Dispensing, Manufacturing or Quality experience • Experience operating Powered Industrial Vehicles • SAP/MES experience and knowledge • Bachelor's degree or equivalent • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint • Experience working with cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively • Strong communication skills • Solid math skills • Physically capable, comfortable working in cold environments, and comfortable working at heights up to 25 feet • Familiar with scales & weighing • Familiarity with chemical handling & PPE.
Top 3 Must Have Skill Sets:
1. Understanding of GMPs, SOP adherence. 2. Biotech/Pharma experience 3. Material handling experience in a GMP environment
Day to Day Responsibilities:
The applicant will be one of 10 Dispensing Team members. The working shift is 7am to 4pm. The team meets each morning at a team huddle and reviews the daily workload. Division of labor is primarily between a picking team which gathers material from the warehouse and a dispensing team which performs material take-outs (including weighed operations). CW's rotate through both the picking and weighed dispensing roles. The first two weeks involve a large amount of SOP reading, warehouse familiarization and training. A new hire is typically trained to full competency in 6 to 9 months.

Resumes with only warehousing experience are not preferred for this role. Limited warehouse or GMP experience may be acceptable if the applicant has the right amount of education (e.g. BA/BS) and proven team work experience. Spelling errors and/or poor formatting are red flags for level of detail.
Interview Process:
The interview is typically a panel interview with members of the Dispensing Team and other Area Managers. A phone screen may also be performed.
