This position is for a Senior Electrical Engineer who will support development, documentation and testing of digital and analog design including RF. The successful candidate will provide domain knowledge to incorporate radio systems into airborne and ground systems. This engineer will work directly with electrical and mechanical design staff, software development teams, customers, test laboratory resources and internal quality teams.
The successful candidate will also be a member of product design teams and work with Mechanical, Systems and Software engineers. Support of product development through manufacturing, qualification and integration into customer systems is an important aspect of the position. Systems will include radio products therefore the position may include design and analysis of RF systems.
This position offers interesting opportunities for people who are interested in working with a variety of products throughout the development and qualification lifecycle.
-Participate in design activities at the PCB and System level for products supporting radio, PA, filter and related technologies
-Participate in the design and validation of communication and processing systems including digital and RF interfaces
-Contribute to hardware engineering requirements capture, analysis and creation in area of domain expertise.
-Design, test, analyze, integrate, qualify and document hardware of moderate to high complexity
-Apply and tailor internal processes, using knowledge of methods and tools for hardware development and documentation efforts.
-Participate in cross-functional team efforts in integration, pre- qualification and qualification for products and sub-systems of moderate to high complexity.
-Estimate, track, own and report status relating to technical performance, cost, schedule, design-to-cost and risk performance for assigned scope of work. May lead cross-functional/domain teams in a project engineering role.
-Review metrics and hardware defects trends, identify systemic root causes and process improvements and recommend new approaches, tools and techniques that drive continuous improvement in hardware development processes.
·10 years minimum design experience
·Experience in design of analog and digital systems
·Experience in RF system design, HF experience is a plus
·Experience in developing test procedures and fixtures
·Experience developing products for a Military environment
·RF component experience is a strong plus
·Support of legacy equipment is a strong plus
·Ability to read, create and review engineering drawings including schematics, assembly drawings and parts lists
·Ability to create test environments as required to qualify and test electronic PCBs and assemblies
·Ability to work in a collaborative environment with effective communications skills
·Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline.
·Active security clearance strongly preferred
