The Business Associate performs a variety of clerical support functions for the Community and Child Support Services (CCSS) Division of the Arapahoe County Client, which includes providing quality customer service to the community. The Community and Child Support Services Division (CCSS) determines initial and ongoing eligibility of public assistance to Arapahoe County residents, including Food Assistance and Medical Assistance.
  • Courteously and effectively greets the customers/visitors.
  • Track, schedule and distribute all applications for intake appointments to the Assessment Specialists.
  • Determine the client rescheduled appointment time to be set in accordance with program regulations.
  • Assist customers, colleagues, and outside agencies with information or directions as requested.
  • Provide customers with referrals for other assistance organizations or programs such as food banks, shelters, child support, and housing.
  • Assist customers with the completion of applications when requested.
  • Inform the technician or other employee that a customer is present and wishes to be seen.
  • Screens the application information the customer provides, data enters the information into the automated system. Assigns all cases to the appropriate worker in CBMS
  • Provides general clerical support such as typing, copying documents, answering telephone calls (which may include multi-line panel), filing, correlating information packets for customers.
  • Research automated system for client participation in other programs, printing appropriate screens and place in new client file.
  • Provide coverage, as needed for other support service positions.
  • Identify, sort, and distributes incoming documents, facsimiles, etc. (May require research as necessary to determine the destination.)
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


  • Ability to research, organize, and prioritize the workload through sound decision and judgment.
  • Ability to effectively complete work in a timely manner despite tight deadlines, high volume of work, constant / frequent interruptions and dealing with angry, upset, or frustrated individuals.

  • Knowledge of personal computer software and ability to learn various computer software applications.
  • Knowledge of basic office procedures and practices, and in operating office machinery and equipment.
  • Skill in performing accurate typing and data entry.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with supervisor(s), other employees, and clients.
