Program Security Officer

  • Assist in the management of a special security office (SSO) for a Ball Aerospace government client serving multiple special programs.
  • Plan, develop and implement all aspects of client security program.
  • Develop and direct personnel, physical, facility, and information security policies.
  • Support evaluation of position sensitivity and conduct screening interviews with strict guidelines.
  • Assist and maintain program security for multiple special access programs (SAPs) of critical national importance.
  • Provide entrance control and physical security checks.
  • Conduct frequent coordination with the Department of Defense (DoD), U.S. Intelligence community and other U.S. government agencies' security principals.
  • Process and monitor personnel security requests.
  • Provide security-related consultation services.
  • Implement and monitor COMSEC processes and procedures.
  • Provide field security management and implementation for client field assessments.
  • Review documents and briefings for appropriate markings and adherence to information security policies and associated security classification guides.
  • Properly package, mark, and mail classified material for various government agencies.
  • Prepare country, theater, and special area clearances in accordance with the DoD Foreign Clearance Guide.
  • Response to alarm activations during non-duty hours.
  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all supported government and contractor personnel. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.

What you'll need:
BS/BA degree in a related field plus 2 or more years of related experience.
2 or more years of experience with Personnel Security, Facility Security, Physical Security, and Information Security.
  • Ability to review and edit classified documents with proper marking.
  • Must have a current Top Secret clearance, with investigation current within 5 years.
  • Ability to work in a government sensitive compartmented information facility (SCIF).
  • Knowledge of and working familiarity with current personnel security systems including the Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS), Scattered Castles, Joint Access Database Enterprise (JADE), etc.
  • Familiarity with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), Joint Air Force-Army-Navy (JAFAN) Manuals, SCI Administrative Security Manual, and Intelligence Community Directives.
  • Ability to coordinate with security offices across government agencies and contractor facilities.
  • 2 or more years of experience working in a government SSO or contractor Facility Security Office (FSO) is preferred.
  • DoD security experience is preferred.
In addition to the typical educational and experience requirements, a demonstrated capability to adequately perform the essential functions and responsibilities of the position and exhibit the skills and competencies of the grade level should be considered. Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Two years of related experience may be substituted for each year of education.
