MicroStrategy/BI DevOps Support Specialist
Contract – 6 months

Our financial client is looking for an experienced
MicroStrategy/BI DevOps Support Specialist working within a DevOps environment. You can expect to work with Global stakeholders and help to implement best practices within the MicroStrategy space and maintain the production stability. Using your exceptional client service skills, you'll be responsible for end to end client support – anything from administering access to monitoring system performance to troubleshooting and escalating issues.
The role will sit within the group that brings together specialist support services including workplace, human resources, market operations and technology. The group's purpose is to drive operational excellence through business-aligned services with a focus on quality, cost, and risk.

  • Working with business users to gather requirements and provide reporting solutions & enhancements
  • Providing support for existing reports, functionalities and configurations in Production
  • Investigating and providing resolution of application errors reported
  • Performing regression testing of application and/or functional changes
  • Providing security model maintenance
  • Preparing documentation of report development and design
  • Performing administration & performance tuning
  • Managing change requests and performing the development for the assigned projects
  • Deploying of application and functional changes between environments
  • Delivering multiple projects and deadlines in parallel
  • Providing end user training and providing best practice advice
  • Engaging in process improvement initiatives
  • Working with other application teams to resolve issues
  • Providing support to other financial applications for the Americas region as required

Skill Requirements:
  • 3-5 years of experience in using MicroStrategy Web and MicroStrategy Office
  • Knowledge of MicroStrategy Administration Tools like Object Manager, Integrity Manager, Enterprise Manager Console, etc.
  • Expertise in creating application objects like reports, prompts, filters, metrics etc.
  • Understanding of Custom Groups & Consolidations.
  • Working knowledge of Narrowcast and Scheduling of reports/documents
  • Strong ability in logical and analytical thinking
  • Positive attitude, learning mindset and attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to be a team player
  • Proven track record of completing tasks, changes, and projects from start to finish
  • Good listener and communicator
Ideally, you will have:
  • Experience in banking and financial services industry
  • Experience supporting MicroStrategy or other BI tools for financial reporting. Basic understanding of accounting concepts and Finance terminology
  • Knowledge of writing MicroStrategy command manager scripts.
  • Knowledge of any databases like Sybase IQ, SQL Server, Oracle, etc.
  • Experience working as part of a global team across multiple countries, cultures, and time-zones
  • Prior exposure to delivering enterprise level business-wide support services
  • The ability to pick up new concepts quickly
  • A degree qualification or equivalent in a relevant computer science discipline
  • Prior experience with IBM Cognos TM1 desired but not essential
