CONFERENCE CENTER DIRECTOR
Seeking an experienced Conference Center Director for a national law firm. The Conference Center Director will lead the planning, merchandising and execution for the firm's conference and audio visual services. This position is highly visible throughout the organization and will collaborate with internal leadership to implement, maintain and improve the designated meeting and conference services to ensure long term value for the organization. The ideal Conference Center Director will have a strong focus on internal customer service, have good management skills, able to establish processes and procedures and have a forward-thinking mentality – knowing events inside and out and how to anticipate things before the meetings begin. Excellent communication skills are required.

Responsibilities:
Possesses a strong customer service and/or hospitality mindset when handling large meetings throughout the organization and able to provide white-glove service
Must have a strong understanding of event planning at every step and can anticipate issues before they happen
Manage the conference and audio visual services staff members, including recruiting, mentoring and monitoring employee productivity and performance
Investigate internal system customizations and/or modifications to reduce vendor fees and implement the improved configurations
Oversee the project management for conference and audio visual improvements, including reviewing and negotiating contracts, collaborating with vendors regarding the statement of work (SOW), and outsourcing work when necessary
Review and analyze audio visual system development requests to determine the level of IT support required, assignment of priorities and scheduling
Monitor and analyze conference services issues and their resolution status; prepare summary reports based on analysis in order to identify high risk areas
Develop and recommend new policies and procedures that enhance current audio visual processes and provide quality assurance
Research advances in conference and audio visual services and present recommended improvements to Firm leadership

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree
10+ years of large meeting planning, event coordination, conference planning experience
1+ years in a Manager or Director-level role
Very strong customer service/hospitality mindset
Advanced knowledge of standard conference services' tools and methodologies
Advanced knowledge of standard audio visual services' tools and methodologies
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong project management skills
Strong organizational skills
Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize responsibilities
Ability to work independently and under own direction and initiative
Ability to travel as needed (up to 30% national travel)
