An e-commerce company is looking for an FIU Manager. The FIU Manager is responsible for working with the Chief Compliance Officer and coordinating the development, implementation and administration of the AML/BSA/Risk Compliance Program. This position enforces compliance with state and federal Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), USA PATRIOT Act, Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and OFAC laws and regulations.  In this role you will need to be comfortable straddling compliance and technology every day. The right person for the role will seek creative solutions and move quickly in a startup environment.
 
The main duties will involve:
  • Coordinate and oversee an effective Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering/OFAC Compliance Program that is in line with current industry best practices, regulatory guidance and requirements for on online MSB and e-commerce technology platform.
  • Aid enhance, develop, implement and administer the BSA/AML/OFAC/USA Patriot Act monitoring systems and internal escalations process to ensure that appropriate parameters are in place to identify suspicious and/or fraudulent activity.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate SAR investigation, review and reporting processes that promote consistent decisions; adequate investigation and research; and complete and detailed documentation.
  • Assist the Compliance Officer in conducting BSA/AML/OFAC risk assessments annually or as needed with consideration to products, services, customers, and geographies that may present BSA/AML/OFAC related risks.
  • Responsible for ensuring all required regulatory reporting is conducted in a timely, accurate, and compliant manner, including the filing of Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) to FinCEN, as well as, FinCEN 314(a) and 314(b) procedures and reporting.
  • Participate in response to exam and audit concerns and oversee corrective action of all related compliance deficiencies or violations.
  • Responds to Law Enforcement inquiries, SAR back-up requests and subpoenas.  Proactively engages Law Enforcement and banks as applicable for active investigations or Fraud
  • Assist Compliance Officer with updates and revisions to BSA/AML/OFAC policies and procedures and preparation of monthly BSA statistics for the Board of Directors.
  • Assist Compliance Officer with administration of BSA/AML/OFAC related training programs to Directors, Management, and Employees and provide BSA guidance and coaching to employees.
  • Stay abreast of and analyze developing industry and compliance trends, scams or schemes, and changes to laws and regulations pertaining to BSA/AML/OFAC/USA Patriot Act.
  • Advise Compliance Officer of emerging risks, new or amended laws, regulations, or agency guidance and recommend and implement changes and controls to mitigate those risks
  • Works with operations units to investigate transactions that are suspicious or illegal in nature.  Enforcing internal policies and procedures across all lines of defense.
  • Monitors and track BSA-AML high-risk customers and accounts.
 
Requirements:
  • 5-10 years of compliance and/or financial crimes investigations
  • Extensive experience investigating, drafting and submitting SARs (e-commerce preferred)
  • Contact with Law Enforcement for proactive outreach
  • Experience in managing teams, processes and programs. Proven leadership skills in managing a large, diverse team.
  • Bachelor's Degree required.  Graduate degree preferred
