About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a candidate with hardware and software support experience.  You will join a small team of talented engineers to design, implement, and maintain a global production trading infrastructure.  You will be responsible for monitoring the infrastructure and utilizing a wide variety of tools to get the job done.
Responsibilities
  • Provide all levels of support for hardware and software internally to research, QA, and production environments.
  • Provision servers, coordinate logistics, and implement with other core team members
  • Support a global datacenter presence, both on-site and utilizing remote hands to facilitate planned installations and migrations.
Requirements
  • You should be able to tell us how the Internet works
  • You should be able to take an ISO and install it on x86 hardware
  • Great organizational, communication and documentation skills
  • Comfortable with Windows, Mac, and Linux environments, including application installation, upgrade and administration
  • You should be able to lift 50lbs and be comfortable working on ladders and in confined spaces, as needed
  • You should have experience with hardware replacement/installation (system boards, NICs, RAM, drives, fans, etc.)
  • Basic understanding of DNS, TCP/IP, Network Topologies, NAT, and VPN
  • Experience with Google Suite Administration (gmail, google apps integration, calendar)
  • Experience writing scripted automation tasks using Bash, Perl or Python and deploying via a scheduling utility such as cron
  • Basic understanding of OOP principles and experience coding in a suitable language such as Python, Rails, C-family or prototype-based language such as Javascript
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline driven work environment and ability to work independently to manage daily tasks while keeping sight of team goals
Nice to Have
  • Experience with web-based applications, including development, deployment and administration
  • Understanding of markup language and experience with an application framework such as Django or Ruby on Rails a plus (MVC)
  • Ability to design and implement a relational database back-end
  • Certifications: CompTIA A+, CompTIA Server+, Red Hat Certified System Administrator, Red Hat Certified Engineer
