Accounting Manager

  • Advises high net-worth and family office clients on a full spectrum of tax issues, including compliance, planning and research.
  • Maintains the accounting functions of the client and their various entities, and is responsible for the accurate reporting of various accounting, tax and investment strategies.
  • Has a deep understanding of tax issues including income, estate, trust, gift, partnership and corporate, including an understanding of related planning strategies.
  • Analyzes, tracks and reports on each client's portfolio of investments.
  • Becomes familiar with the clients' systems and procedures and their overall business operations and industries to apply this knowledge in successfully completing each assignment.
  • Ability to recognize non-routine accounting, investment and tax problems in client operations and, develops recommendations for solutions with the appropriate personnel.
  • Involved in the training and supervision of less experienced accounting personnel.
  • Actively participates in outside community and business organizations.
  • Bachelor's degree is required; MBA or CPA is a plus.
  • 3-5 years' experience in a family office environment or closely related field.
  • 10-15 years overall work experience.
  • Superior problem solving and analytical skills, both quantitative and qualitative.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communications skills.
  • Well rounded knowledge of accounting principles.
  • Computer savvy.
  • Ability to delegate and manage the work of others to complete assignments effectively and efficiently to comply with and meet deadlines.
  • Mentor staff by providing training, leadership and direction to motivate them and develop their capabilities.
