Senior Staff Accountant (Bilingual - Spanish)

The right candidate must have extensive experience working in an accounting office or for CPA firms. Proven experience managing clients, processing Payroll, Sales Tax, Corporation Tax, Individual Tax, Licenses and Permits, month end close, and financial statement preparation. It is extremely important that the candidate possesses strong analytical skills, problem solving skills, strong attention to detail and common sense and flexibility are equally valued in this role.

Qualifications - Requirements
  • Bachelors' degree in Accounting required
  • +8 years of professional experience related to job
  • +6 years of experience with Payroll, Sales Tax, Corporation Tax, Individual Tax
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Extensive experience in cleaning up and maintaining QuickBooks Desktop and Online files
  • Expertise in Bookkeeping and reconciling proficiency
  • Experienced processing Payroll, Sales Tax, Corporation Tax, Individual Tax, Licenses and Permits
  • Experience in month end close, and financial statement preparation
  • Mathematical, research and independent problem solving
  • CPA Candidate a plus
  • English required and Spanish a plus
  • Strong Interpersonal/Verbal/Written Communications skills required
  • Must be able to supervise and train staff
  • Must be able to independently manage business clients
  • Must be able to work well under pressure and manage time efficiently
  • Must be available to work overtime and weekends during winter.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and review different types of tax returns (individual, Corporate, Non-Profit).
  • Explain tax return items/details to clients.
  • Prepare extensions.
  • Prepare estimated tax payments for the year.
  • Manage process of payroll; weekly, biweekly or monthly.
  • Preparation of 1099 forms and W-2 forms
  • Manage process of making online and physical payments to the Federal, State, and local entities
  • Email or print quarterly forms and annual returns.
  • Prepare and process sales tax returns.
  • Obtain information and follow up with clients in person or over the phone regarding monthly bookkeeping, payroll, sales tax, corporate tax and individual tax.
  • Enter data in different software for bookkeeping, payroll, sales tax, corporate tax and individual tax. Review data and make adjustments. Report balanced information.
  • Must be able to independently manage client due dates and required assignments.
  • Oversee the resolution of letters that clients received regarding taxes.
  • Supervise process: client's insurance due dates and follow up with audit letters.
  • Fill out workers compensation and disability audit reports.
  • Prepare information for auditor if the audit is in the office.
  • Maintain regular contact with client as primary contact.
  • Assist clients with licenses and permits.
  • Manage bookkeeping and solve issues
