Network Security Engineer

Required Background:
  • Experience with designing and deploying security solutions such as NAC, 802.1x, Firewalls, IDS/IPS, WAF, Proxies, DLP, DDoS, and Malware inspections solutions
  • Experience deploying and implementing network micro-segmentation using a tool such as Illumio, Cisco ACI, vARMOUR, NSX, or other similar software defined networking solution.
  • A broad knowledge of information security principles. 3+ years of experience in the network security discipline, or related information security experience
  • 3+ years of fundamental network experience with a solid understanding of OSI layers, TCP/IP, routing, firewalling, load balancing, VLANs, etc.
  • Experience taking a project from requirements gathering through the design, testing, and deployment phases
  • Strong project management, analytical skills/problem solving/conceptual thinking and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently on initiatives with little oversight. Motivated and willing to learn.
  • Must be comfortable in delivering messages across a wide spectrum of individuals having varying degrees of technical understanding
  • Ability to quickly diagnose the problem areas and come up with solutions and/or workarounds in a face paced environment
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or other Engineering or Technical discipline or equivalent relevant experience
  • One or more engineering level certification preferred (e.g.; CCNA, CCNA-Security, CCNP R/S, PCNSE, Security+, CISM, CCSP, etc).

Desired Skills:
  • Knowledge and experience architecting complex enterprise cybersecurity solutions
  • Experience securing virtual environments including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Azure, and VMware
  • Experience with third party network security controls, such as Palo Alto Networks, Bluecoat, Checkpoint, Juniper, F5, Cisco, or FireEye and SIEM tools such as Splunk
  • Experience working with ForeScout or other Network Access Control solutions, preferably with lab testing, design, and operational support
  • Ability to understand the requirements and analyze the technical feasibility and design against the requirements.
  • Experience with Microsoft Active directory, securing/hardening Windows endpoints, and host based firewalling
  • Experience with one or more general purpose programming languages including but not limited to: AWS CLI, Bash, Java, C/C++, C#, Objective C, Python, JavaScript
  • Possess significant breadth across other disciplines (e.g., cloud security, compute services, storage, large-scale networking, virtualization, data center, integration architecture (API), orchestration technologies (Puppet), systems resiliency, service support, application development lifecycle management (DevOps), and service delivery).
  • Master degree, CISSP, or CCNP
