Project Manager- Data Center Facilities

Oversees successful delivery of several complex projects through all defined phases of the project life cycle. Manages cross-functional team of assigned product experts, associates, external consultants, contracted resources, and customer employees.
Responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of several complex moderate to large size projects through all of the defined phases of the project life cycle. This includes implementations of new IT Distributed Critical Power, UPS Systems, Cooling Systems and Fiber Optic Cabling related to infrastructure and networking projects. Utilize effective project and time management skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Ensure all projects are consistent with overall customer objectives and strategic plans. Manage the day-to-day activities of cross-functional project teams and ensures the adherence to the project plan. Deploy best practices approach defined by Project Services team. Manages a cross functional team of product experts, associates and vendors while they are assigned to a project. External consultants, contracted resources, and customer employees may also report in to project teams during the project lifecycle. Develops the project work plan, work breakdown structure, and schedule using a designated project management tool for project team usage. Project Plans include sufficient task level detail to capture known dependencies and major milestones. Has management responsibility for one or more projects and must provide appropriate project reports and 2 Week Look Ahead Schedules. Responsible to coordinate needed change controls, report on budget variances, project timeline, and verify project scope for purposes of requesting and seeking approval for project changes if warranted. Proactively identify, report and seek to correct project related issues. Produces timely, detailed summaries and high-level reports. Provide project schedule, actual vs. budget, and earned value information in project progress reports. Identifies and mitigates project risk, keeping issues visible, to avoid impacting the project's success. Confirm the alignment of customer expectations and project goals. Ensure proper quality assurance and user acceptance of solutions prior to implementation. Review and finalize deliverables and monitor quality control. Develops and maintains strong working relationships with all key stakeholders including, Client Executives, Product Managers, and Resource Allocation Manager. Coordinate with Client Executives and Product Directors to align all projects with customer's strategic objectives. Collaborate with all levels of management.
Work with the client from the start of each project to ensure all stakeholders understand the project scope, vision, timeline and expectations.
Oversee full project lifecycle from concept to completion inclusive of municipal permitting submission, design evaluations and implementation of related construction activities
Create, monitor & maintain the project schedule for multiple projects concurrently, inclusive of 2 week look ahead for planning of related activities.
Develop, provide and report on daily construction activities related to concurrent projects
Manage project risk and implement strategies for remediation
Identify, Manage & Process change orders
Collaborate with design professionals, internal staffing and project stakeholders to ensure project timelines and expectations are met/exceeded.
Coordinate & Conduct on-site meetings with appropriate staff, vendors and stakeholders
Negotiate with vendors, suppliers and subcontractors as needed
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related field of study and/or demonstrated related experience commensurate with managing large construction projects
5+ years' experience in designing & building commercial infrastructure projects, with demonstrated back ground in IT Electrical, Mechanical and Fiber Optic Cable systems/installations
Demonstrated knowledge of construction procedures related to construction activities (in Hospital settings a plus)
Demonstrated ability to read, asses and interoperate blueprints, structural drawings and plan sets
Understanding of risk management policies and procedures
Ability to manage project risk and implement strategies for remediation
Experiencing managing budgets for medium/large construction projects
Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes and equipment
Proven experience as construction project manager
Familiarity with quality and health & safety standards including knowledge and application of PCRA/ICRA/ILSM and OSHA a plus.
Strong knowledge of MS Office including MS Project
Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Must be a team player with leadership abilities
PMP or equivalent certification will be an advantage
