About the Position
Our client is seeking a self-motivated candidate to be responsible for the coordination of FATCA (Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act) and CRS (Common Reporting Standards) compliance procedures as well as completing FATCA/CRS review of all new clients. FATCA/CRS review is an ongoing effort and includes review, validation, and maintenance of client documents. This person will ensure the company is in compliance with FATCA/CRS validation requirements.
In addition to an eagerness to learn, the ideal candidate will be able to coordinate multiple priorities at one time and thrive in a fast paced environment.
This position is located in New York City.

Specific Responsibilities Include
  • Maintain tracking of client tax documents, monitor document expiration dates, identify renewal requirements and liaise with Relationship Management to obtain updated documents
  • Direct FATCA/CRS validation with 3rd party validation vendor
  • Coordinate the remediation of client tax forms, if deemed invalid from validation vendor or trade counterparty
  • Receive and prioritize FATCA/CRS validation requests from Client On-Boarding for new clients
  • Collaborate with Corporate Tax, Relationship Management and other functional groups to resolve issues related to FATCA/CRS validation and tax documentation
  • Liaise with various operational groups to review tax related inquiries received from external counterparties
  • Coordinate the preparation and maintenance of tax documents for internal entities
  • Work with operational groups and third party vendors to ensure proper FATCA and CRS reporting is completed to foreign jurisdictions
  • Ensure compliance with internal FATCA/CRS procedures
  • Provide oversight of third party vendors for FATCA/CRS compliance
  • Monitor client accounts for change in circumstances
  • Additional projects as necessary

Skills & Experience Required
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Five to eight years of experience in financial services; Middle and Back Office experience within an Investment Management Firm preferred
  • Knowledge of IRS tax forms, CRS and FATCA reporting requirements
  • Must be able to operate in a deadline driven environment and prioritize tasks appropriately while maintaining attention to detail
  • Ability to work in high paced environment to manage a multi-stream workload
  • Detailed oriented with excellent record keeping, document organization and retention skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working within an organization distributed across geographic locations
  • Ability to forge strong relationships across functions with internal contacts
