Our client is a global Law Firm located in Chicago. They are currently looking to add to their Benefits team with an experienced Benefits Specialist / Analyst. This person will be part of a small and collaborative team of HR and HRIS professionals working to ensure data integrity and accuracy while working to improve processes and procedures. The Benefits Administrator will be responsbile for the following:

  • Provide day-to-day administration and support of all benefits programs for attorneys and staff:  Group health insurance, life, accidental death and dismemberment, long-term disability, long-term care, health flexible spending account, dependent care flexible spending account, workers compensation, 401(k) Savings Plan, Cash Balance Plan (CBP)
  • Oversee on-line enrollment via eBenefits for all Health and Welfare plans, monitor auto enrollment for non-Partners via Schwab for 401(k) Savings Plan and coordinate other enrollment processes for Long Term Care and CBP
  • Conduct group health insurance orientations for attorneys and staff
  • Assist all participants (Active, LOAs, Retirees, Cobra) with benefits-related issues/questions including group insurance, Firm Savings Plan, CBP and unfunded Partner Retirement Plan 
  • Day-to-Day administration of Oracle PeopleSoft BenAdmin system, including Event Maintenance, Client Activity Table, monitoring events through to Final/Prepared for all New Hires, Separation, Retirements, promotions, secondments, relocations, paid and unpaid LOAs, etc. 
  • Process status changes for all benefits to ensure compliance with IRS regulations.  Open appropriate QSC "Events" via PeopleSoft BenAdmin and provide employees access to eBenefits for election changes 
  • Run required audit reports for each payroll checking all data entry, deductions and premiums.  Reconcile, report and correct differences
  • Process and coordinate Worker's Compensation claims.  Process OSHA reports
  • Reconcile group insurance billing including; medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, STD, LTD, LTC, Health FSA and Dependent Care FSA invoice/premium statements and process for monthly payment 
  • Maintain a working knowledge of HR, Payroll and IT functions as they relate to benefit issues
  • Bachelor's degree or High School diploma/ GED with relevant work experience required
  • Four years previous benefits administration experience (working with all major insurance coverage) required
  • Knowledge of ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, ERISA, 401(k) and applicable regulations required
  • Must be computer literate with strong working knowledge of MS Word and Excel
  • Experience with Oracle PeopleSoft BenAdmin HRIS and ADP PayForce or other similar payroll system preferred
  • Strong verbal and oral communication skills
  • Able to interact with all levels of the firm and with vendors
  • May be required to lift file boxes up to 20 lbs.
