Our client seeking a SQL database administrator with expertise in various databases, and specifically in SQL Server.  The ideal candidate should be comfortable working with financial systems and have a solid understanding of server technologies.  The candidate must be self-motivated and possess strong analytical thinking.

Responsibilities:
  • Installation and configuration of SQL Server software.
  • Troubleshooting of Windows Server and Open Systems operating systems and production issues.
  • SQL database operations, backup, restore, update to test, staging, and production environments.
  • Monitoring and maintain system health and security.
  • Creation of SQL reports via SSRS/and Adhoc ETL in SSIS.
  • Batch job monitoring and processing.
  • Implement and maintain backup processes for server and associated data.
  • Knowledge of VMware host and server guest infrastructure.
  • Experience with disaster recovery protocol.
  • Create and maintain database management procedures.
  • Maintain a flexible and proactive work environment to facilitate a quick response to changing requirements and customer objectives, and innovate ways to meet mission goals successfully.
  • Communicate and collaborate with various internal departments, including but not limited to marketing, product development and operations, security and risk management to ensure SQL Server environment supports internal needs relating to functionality and performance.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology.
  • Minimum work experience: 2-3 years of Windows Server administration.
  • Proficient with Windows Server 2012+ operation system and SQL Server 2012+ administration.
  • Ability to script via PowerShell and TSQL.
  • Knowledge of Active Directory.
Preferred:
  • Knowledge of basic Linux command shell.
  • Azure SQL Online administration.
  • Knowledge of PostgreSQL and/or NoSQL
