Our client is a nationally renowned law firm located in the Newark, NJ area and they're seeking a dynamic communicator with the ability to turn ideas into compelling articles and establish a strong, unified voice for the firm. The Business Communications Generalist will be responsible for the creation and ongoing maintenance of our website and proposal content, including writing, editing and project management. The candidate will work with senior marketing team to develop the firm's content strategy and collaborate with the Media Relations Manager, the Business Intelligence & Knowledge Manager, and the Business Development Managers to implement the firm's brand platform. The candidate will produce persuasive marketing communications that support the firm's business development initiatives and raise the firm's profile in the competitive marketplace in which they operate.

Responsibilities Include: 
  • Interviewing and working with attorneys to draft and/or update their biographies
  • Working with Practice Group Leaders and Managers to revise practice and industry descriptions for both website and proposals
  • Collaborating with other members of the Business Development team to create compelling content for various marketing initiatives, advertisements and events that reflects the firm's key messaging and brand
  • Create a library of proposal content that can be repurposed for future RFP responses
  • Editing client alerts (written by attorneys) to appeal to a business person's perspective
  • Assist the Managers in editing award submissions and major press releases for their groups Internal Communications:
  • Produce internal communications as needed for senior firm leadership
  • Produce a firm style guide for use by Managers that adheres to the relevant bar associations ethical guidelines
  • Train lawyers on best practices for drafting client alerts and presentations
  • Work with digital marketing team to repurpose other content for social media and oversee the tracking of digital communications to improve open rates and click-throughs
  • Draft communications and speeches for firm leadership
  • Create processes and structure for the workflow and proofing of all content created by Marketing
