Key Responsibilities:
Reporting to the IT Support Manager within the IT Production function, the individual selected will be responsible for all the US business day applications that run across the platforms including Oracle, SQL Server and Third Party vendor applications

Key areas of responsibility are:
  • Proactive monitoring and management of business critical 24x7 real-time, legacy application, data handling and data delivery infrastructure to identify issues, trends and potential problem areas. Where required to rectify issues in a timeless fashion in order to restore application functionality
  • Ensure incidents are correctly processed, assessing business and technical impact and severity
  • Taking ownership of application incidents and ensuring that they are resolved, this includes retaining ownership of incidents that require 3rd Line or IT Change activity to resolve
  • Ensuring the communication to the business community remains active,
  • Application responsibilities will cover Application Infrastructure, Data Fixes, User Queries, User Education, Data Requests, Data Analysis and Incident Investigation
  • Ability to interpret and support complex 3rd party developed applications
  • Monitoring of application events alerts, job schedules, capacity monitors and performance KPI's. Creation and ownership of change requests raised to address any of the above issues
  • Working with the Support Team Leads and Support Manager, contribute to the continuous support improvement process addressing failings with existing processes
  • Ensure maintenance and availability of business critical systems
  • Own all reported application incidents through to successful resolution
  • To provide 1st & 2nd line support to the Business community
  • To reduce incidents through continuous support process improvement
  • To sponsor change required to drive down support issues
  • Monitor production environment processes
  • Rota coverage to support core New York hours (8am – 6pm). Occasional ad-hoc evening hours and weekend work. .
Experience and Skills:
It is expected with limited supervision the candidate will be able to deliver each of the key objectives of the role identified above. It is therefore expected that he or she will have:
  • Demonstrable experience of problem solving working in a real time environment in Asset Management or other Financial Services sector
  • A solid SQL Server or Oracle experience and database concepts is essential.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem solving experience in the IT financial services sector particularly around data, trading and data flows
  • Strong experience and a good working knowledge of application performance tuning, integration and testing
  • Essential; proven experience with:
    • Financial Services Experience
    • Oracle, MS SQL, Sybase Server – writing SQL queries
    • Experience with Trading and Settlement applications in the financial sector
  • Pluses:
    • Collaboration software (Sharepoint, Salesforce etc) – STRONG PLUS
    • ServiceNow support software
    • Wintel and Unix scripting
    • Middleware MQ
    • Trading Floor support
    • Experience supporting one or more of the following applications: : Eagle PACE or similar Data Mart, Aladdin, B-ONE, Vermillion Reporting (or other Client Report Applications), Intellimatch, SimCorp Dimension, Charles River, Maestro Scheduler or equivalent
