AVP - Infrastructure Support

We are working with a Global Real Estate company with it's US headquarters based in Chicago. They are currently looking for Manager of Infrastructure Support (title AVP) to oversee the companies infrastructure, work with key IT vendors including their Cloud Service provider, and Global IT teams. This Infrastructure Manager will manage 2 resources and have an indirect line of management to consultants and vendors. The ideal person will have 5+ years of management experience who is still technically hands on with Networking and Server technologies. 

  • To provide a highly reliable infrastructure for all end user and computing environments
  • Positive and professional representation of IT department to end users 
  • Sustained end user satisfaction of products and services
  • Insure all PC and Server related solutions are sustained with visible and defined metrics
  • Sustain a solution road map related to the PC and Server enterprise environment
  • Overall Microsoft network support and administration
  • Direct management and coordination with mission critical, 3rd party cloud/hosted solution providers
  • Installation and configuration of Microsoft servers and PCs
  • Active Directory Management (user and policy definitions and implementation)
  • Office 365, SharePoint, Symantec Enterprise Vault configuration and management
  • Define security and management policies for CLIENT environment
  • Define and manage support practices related to overall user environment
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute all PC and server related updates and changes
  • Recommend and define software and hardware standards
  • Management, configuration and support of remote management tools, VOIP, routers, switches, firewalls
  • Recommendation for and procurement of PC and server related hardware/software
  • Project management oversight regarding upgrades, changes and various infrastructure-related projects
  • Assist with business case development for new and related projects and investments
  • Managed server data and related backup/recovery solutions and services
  • Sustain on-going PC and server management recommendations and plans to evolve services with the needs and direction of the company
  • Oversight, management and escalation point of CLIENT's internal help desk department
  • Close collaboration with Global IT to manage VPN, MPLS, networking, routing and other global infrastructure projects
  • Strong Microsoft operating system and enterprise network experience
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues and problems
  • Ability to configure, define, and manage multiple Microsoft environments and Operating Systems (Win10, Win7, Server OS, Office 365/Exchange, Office, MS SQL, Active Directory)
  • Knowledge of Cisco, Palo Alto, Juniper and Meraki
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to communicate issues and problems with a non-technical audience
  • Working knowledge of network management skills (switch and firewall management, IP definitions, and general troubleshooting)
  • 8-10 yrs Microsoft Active Directory experience required 
  • 8-10 yrs Microsoft desktop OS (Windows 7) and Server administration
  • 3 + yrs of management experience
  • Previous SharePoint experience strongly preferred
  • CCNP certification preferred
  • Previous O365 and/or Exchange administration desired
  • Bachelor's degree in an applicable field required
