Own monthly financial reporting and general ledger maintenance. Prepare monthly analytics to explain variances to prior periods. Meet short turn-around deadlines to produce monthly financial results.

Work with firm analysts and with accounting data to ensure accuracy and consistency of data capture and coding; consider comparability and socialize coding changes. Assist budget analysts with budgeting and forecasts.

Demonstrate professional communication skills and ability to provide excellent responsiveness and customer service, during and outside of working hours, while observing and ensuring confidentiality of personnel and firm information.

Manage and two direct reports, ensuring they are challenged and continuously focused on strengthening controls and optimizing processes.

Act as primary liaison to external auditors and to related internal personnel in support of the annual audit. Develop all Audit Committee materials; carefully manage all related meeting scheduling and materials preparation.

Develop and continuously review / update firm accounting policies to ensure propriety, consistency and supportability of approach.

Oversee the proper reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts. Strive for consistency and high level summarization of reconciling items. Escalate issues, including delays in completion of reconciliations, timely.

Maintain fixed assets, depreciation and amortization on various bases. Lead projects to properly adjust asset values based on legislation or changes in usage.

Build and regularly circulate a robust monthly / quarterly / annual calendar to clearly manage and communicate deliverables to your team and from your team.

Undergraduate degree in Accounting, finance or related field.
CPA highly preferred or at least sitting in for the exam.
5+ years, with some of this experience as a financial auditor with public accounting or industry experience.
Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills. Provide regular status reporting to the department and to executive leadership.
Demonstrate excellent data management, retrieval and analysis skills.
Possess strong analytic and business judgment skills.
