Human Resource Generalist

We have a client searching for a Human Resource Generalist to join their growing Human Resource Department. This individual will be reporting and working directly with the company's Chief of Staff and will be sitting in the company's corporate office near Nutley, NJ. This position holds full human resource administration responsibilities including employee files, onboarding and off boarding, reviews, rewards, orientation & training programs, workman's compensation, medical coverage and company policies. Position will also provide support to Executive Management as well as perform Contract Administration duties.
Human Resources
  • Ensuring the accuracy of all employee records as well as government compliance of all employee behaviors, guarding against such practices as harassment or discrimination. It is the responsibility of this position to keep all company policies up to date and distributed within the organization as well as all pertinent public postings as required by law.
  • Implement a complete new hire training program that ensures all new employees are readily equipped and fully trained for their job duties. This function will include coordination with IT for computer needs, Phone Company for cell phone needs as well as the employee's manager for training, uniforms and business cards. (including safety training)
  • Each employee will have full knowledge of the company policy, payroll procedures, non-compete requirements, holidays / vacation days and insurance.
  • Implements and annually updates compensation program; rewrites job descriptions as necessary; conducts annual salary surveys; monitors performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.
  • Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, part-time and temporary employees; conducts new-employee orientations; monitors career pathing program and exit interviewing; writes and places advertisement.
  • Initiate background and MVR checks for new hires, also administer regular annual screening for all employees
  • The tracking and reporting of all workmen's compensation as required by law.
  • Communicate & liaison ADP open enrollment. Answer questions, guide & direct employees
  • Attend to Employees Relations and keep a record of all communications and incidents. Properly report them to the Chief Human Resources Officer and ADP's HR Specialist
  • Keep an open communications and report with Accounts Payable for all invoices from HR vendors and recruiters
  • Track vacation
  • Knowledge and experience with ADP TotalSource Platform is a Plus
Contract Management
  • Ensure contracts are reviewed and executed and legal consultation is sought if necessary.
  • Assist in the preparation and administration of contractual proposals relating to projects. Secure all necessary approvals and ensure that standard company procedures are followed.
Executive Support
  •  State Licensing
  • Order company uniforms, shirts, marketing materials, business cards, etc.
  • Company notary
Experience and Knowledge
  • A bachelor's degree and three to five years of HR experience.
  • High Organizational Skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent editing skills
  • Ability to navigate and work with online HR Management Portals to generate reports and manage on/off boarding needs
