IT PROCESS CONTROL ENGINEER
DALLAS/FORT WORTH AREA


POSITION:
ICS has partnered with one of their clients in the Automotive Manufacturing space to find an IT Process Control Engineer to join their team in the Dallas/Fort Worth area! This position will be part of their distribution facility's System Development team. It is a hands on position that will work on improvements to the automation processes in all distribution facilities through development, testing, and troubleshooting the related hardware and software systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Design, develop, implement, and test improvements to equipment controls and automation through hardware, PLC programming, and new equipment or process deployment to help meet production objectives.
  • PLC programming including modifying existing code as well as starting new code from scratch.
  • Create and maintain electrical controls documentation including schematics, PLC programs and technical specifications.
  • Provide technical assistance by responding to inquiries from others regarding errors, problems, or questions about the system including controls, hardware and programs.
  • Work with others (supervisors, programmers, distribution center personnel) to gather information relating to changes to functions and features of the control system.
  • Assist in implementation and maintenance of industrial hand-held computers and network devices.
  • Assist in SOP development for training of associates, equipment operators, and Supervisors on system operation; and trains end users or technical support staff to use programs and procedures.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience in a Process Engineer position, with demonstrated experience with Allen Bradley SLC500 and ControlLogix platforms.
  • Knowledge of VFDs, motor starters, photoelectric sensors, PLC hardware
  • Working knowledge of industrial networks and communications
  • Good troubleshooting, communication, and writing skills required.
  • Must be willing and able to work in an electrical cabinet with 480VAC present.
  • Experience with software programming is a plus (ex: C/C++, VB, Unix/Linux OS).
