Office Assistant DOB/DEP Coordinator

Our client located near Lynbrook, Long Island NY is a privately owned provider of plumbing, heating, and air conditioning services firm. They have an immediate opening for a D.O.B./D.E.P. Coordinator to join their team in their corporate office. This position will be reporting into the VP of Customer Administration Department.

• Obtain permits for the plumbing and sprinkler departments
• Set up inspections and obtain gas authorization/signoffs through the NYC DOB Inspection Ready program
• Close-out various jobs with the Department of Buildings via the Inspection Ready online portal
• Work closely with the LAA division in order to obtain and file LAA's online and e-file
• Obtain FDNY permits for use and storage of acetylene and oxygen throughout various job sites
• Directly communicate with Client, submitting information in order to initiate client cases (i.e. obtaining a new meter, unlocking a meter, adding new gas load to buildings etc.)
• Obtain, file, and close-out all NYC DEP water meter permits with Department of Environmental Protection Bureau
• Constantly track and schedule plumbing and sprinkler inspections/permits
• Communicate with general contractors, inspectors, chiefs, and the NYC DOB/NYC Plumbing Division/NYC DOB High-Rise Division
• Maintain plumbing and sprinkler licenses for all company held licenses

• Minimum of a Highschool Diploma
• Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels
• At least three years of experience in the Plumbing and DOB industry is desired but not required
• Must have knowledge of the requirements for NYC DOB and various municipalities in the NYC/Long Island area
• Experience with DOB NOW Inspection System and BIS Unit is desired but not required
• Substantial knowledge of DEP, backflow preventers, and meter permit filing
• Prior experience with license renewals is a definite asset
• Ability to provide outstanding customer service skills with effective communication and professionalism
• Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Must be able to display effective problem solving techniques and have the ability to work well with others while remaining calm in a high-volume and demanding environment
• Great organizational/tracking skills and have the ability to accomplish day-to-day tasks with minimal supervision
