Security Analyst- z/OS
FT Position in Downtown Manhattan
The Security Analyst- z/OS assists in the management and development of security technology for data, systems, networks and applications. This position is responsible for evaluating and implementing products and procedures to enhance security productivity and effectiveness. Security Analyst- z/OS provides direct support to the business and IT staff on security related issues. Key responsibilities include:
  • Responsible for set-up, upgrade and maintenance of CA's Top-Secret security software on multiple z/OS mainframe systesm/LPARS
  • Maintain environment resources via creates, updates, deletes of userids, UIDs, profiles, groups, GIDs, departments, divisions, facilities, transaction, ppt's, etc.
  • Implements interfaces with OEM (non-IBM) products with MVS/MQ/CICS/DB2 Systems Programmers/DBAs
  • Assist in the development and implementation of security systems and its associated software.
  • Review requests for new systems or changes to existing systems and evaluate the impact to security.
  • Partner with system owners to ensure the integrity, availability and confidentiality of information residing in corporate databases, workstations, servers or being transmitted over the network.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of disaster recovery plans.
  • Design logon user id/department/divisions naming conventions to ensure list and reporting capability.
  • Provide direct support to the business on security related issues.
  • Educate the business about security policies and provide consultation on security issues.
  • Assist in representing the security needs of the organization by providing security expertise and assistance on all IT projects.
  • Assist with the development and enforcement of IT security policies, guidelines, standards and procedures.
  • Participates in audit activities pertaining to CA Top Secret controlled resources
  • Monitor daily reports to ensure the effectiveness of new and existing security technology.
  • Develop, monitor, and maintain automated processes for security reports (TSSUTIL/TSSAUDIT programs)
  • Prepares ad hoc reports a requested by business line application owners
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in systems or specialized training required.
  • 5 or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in the financial services industry.
  • In-depth, hands-on knowledge of CA's Top-Secret security product a must
  • Heavy experience in TSO, JCL, IBM UTILITIES, JES2, and ISPF a must
  • Strong knowledge of mainframe USS (Unix Systems Services) and zLINUX required
  • Strong knowledge of SDSF, MQSeries, CICS, DB2, MVS, Websphere, REXX, CLIST and or SAS programming skills a must
  • Knowledge of IBM RACF security and ACF2 a plus
  • Knowledge of industry information security standards and practices, including applicable laws related to data privacy and protection.
  • Knowledge of network and security components, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, anti-virus software and data encryption.
  • Strong knowledge of IP, TCP/IP and other network administration protocols, including their vulnerabilities and solutions required.
  • Knowledge of operating platforms, database and sub-system platforms and products.
  • Technical proficiency with Checkpoint Firewall I preferred.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities, while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong problem solving, organizational and project management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills.
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), a plus Security certifications, a plus.
  • Work schedule includes rotating off hour, on-call, and weekend support
