FINANCIAL CONTROLLER

Our client is currently seeking a Controller to work in the Pine Brook, New Jersey headquarters. This high-level, hands-on executive will oversee and manage all of the day-to-day accounting functions of the business. As an integral part of the Accounting and Finance Team, this individual will lead the Company's accounting function and build a strong internal control structure in a fast paced, rapidly growing environment.
Responsibilities include:
  • Accounting operations
  • GAAP compliance
  • Internal controls
  • Revenue recognition
  • Internal/external reporting
  • Management of external audits
  • Tax and Treasury
  • Provide accounting team leadership
  • Establish strong "business partner” relationship with the functional teams
  • Act as the company's technical expert in accounting matters
  • Identify and lead opportunities to automate and streamline accounting operations
  • Lead and develop accounting processes and controls for expansion into new markets
  • Develop and drive necessary financial policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Play a leading role in directing change initiatives and process improvements
  • Ensure accounting activities and reporting are in accordance with established legal, regulatory, and company procedures
Qualifications:
  • Proven leader with strong accounting and management record
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience. Experience in either manufacturing or distribution of consumer goods a plus.
  • Strong technical accounting skills with demonstrated revenue recognition experience, as well as solid knowledge of internal control frameworks
  • Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Commitment to excellence and impeccable ethical standards and integrity
  • ERP system experience in Great Plains is a must
  • Knowledge of tax structures and statutory reporting
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Business
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting required.
  • Advanced Excel skills, ability to work with pivot tables, lookups; macros a plus.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
