Senior DevOps Engineer

We are undertaking a large-scale transition to the AWS cloud, and we want you to be a leader in our efforts. As our newest Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for the overall health of multiple applications and their operating environments, ensuring reliability and availability while supporting a dynamic, changing feature-set. You will apply your cloud and CI/CD skills working with both hosted and cloud-based resources to define standards and processes for the development and deployment of scalable, reliable software. You will design, script, and code our infrastructure, communicate and collaborate across functional borders, and lead other team members in delivering systems projects and following best practices.

  • Deep understanding of DevOps, systems engineering, CI/CD principles and trends.
  • 5+ years of experience managing servers and applications in a hybrid cloud environment.
  • 5+ years experience with Linux or other comparable operating systems, including building rpms and building/maintaining Yum repositories.
  • 5+ years experience with script development (Python, bash) and their use in automating systems administrations tasks and managing Linux services.
  • 5+ years experience with Java based applications including servlet deployment with Jetty, Tomcat, or other servlet containers in conjunction with web servers, web proxies and load balancers.
  • 3+ years of experience in life cycle, infrastructure as code, configuration management and source control using tools such as Cloudformation, Terraform, Puppet, Chef, CFEngine, Ansible, GitHub, Bitbucket
  • 3+ years of experience with Agile, workflow automation, and collaboration tools such as Jenkins/Hudson, JIRA, Confluence, and testing suites.
  • 3+ years of experience with large-scale monitoring, logging and alerting systems such as Nagios, Datadog, Ganglia, Cloudwatch, Splunk.
  • Experience working in global, high-traffic SaaS and Big Data environments highly desirable.
  • Experience with the following is preferred: Hadoop, Hive, MySQL, Cassandra, Memcached, AWS: EMR, EC2, S3, DynamoDB.
