Application Developer

BASIC FUNCTION
The Application Developer assists in the design, development, implementation and maintenance of Aptify and .NET systems.

Candidates should have competency in .NET and related web development tools plus working knowledge of Microsoft SQL. Experience with Aptify a plus but not necessary; will provide training. Candidates must be self-sufficient, work independently, and have the ability to react quickly and manage change. Excellent team work skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision are required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  1. Diagnose and resolve user application support issues. Work directly with users and IT team as necessary to identify, implement and document resolution. Adapt standards as appropriate to incorporate resolution to ensure problems do not recur. Comprehend, ask questions and develop solutions based on discussions with users, agree on design, and then implement the solution.
  2. Able to document requirements, design, develop, test and deploy application systems to meet user and member needs. Able to work with vendors to integrate and support 3rd party applications. Assist with the development of .NET code to meet requirements using Visual Studio, Team Foundation Server, SQL, and SharePoint.
  3. Able to quickly diagnose application code or user/operator problems and to take effective corrective action. Ability to proactively identify, troubleshoot and resolve live web, database and .NET issues.
  4. Log application problem reports and support requests. Take appropriate action to ensure a satisfactory response with acceptable time frames for the user and member community.
  5. Maintain application code repositories (Team Foundation Server) for Aptify and .NET applications. Administer and support the association management system (AMS), Aptify.
  6. Able to provide 24/7 application support on applications when needed, as scheduled on projects and on-call rotation.
  7. Able to produce and maintain clear and usable documentation of requirements, system design and architecture, test plans and problem resolutions.
  8. Participate in developing solutions for web initiatives, assessing limitations, choosing appropriate technologies, and maintaining an approachable user experience. Stay current with new web development trends for future implementation of websites.
  9. Code, test, debug, and maintain existing web applications on all websites using ASP.NET MVC, VB.NET/C#, SQL, HTML, CSS/SASS, Bootstrap, Telerik, JavaScript, and jQuery. Put forth due diligence in minimizing web page exception errors. Ability to optimize existing code to improve performance.
  10. Assist with mid-level database administration for multiple Microsoft SQL instances to meet application requirements. Ability to develop SQL queries as required for business initiatives and reporting.
  11. Work closely with IT infrastructure team on design and interconnectivity of web and desktop database applications. Ability to communicate to the team when assistance is needed while working on the solution.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education: B.S. degree or equivelent experience
Experience: 4+ years of application development experience leveraging the programming languages mentioned above.

COMPETENCIES

Computer Skills Skilled with Aptify, .NET, SQL, jQuery, CSS (SASS), responsive design (Bootstrap/media queries), web services (SOAP/REST). Takes advantage of new technology, learns new tools quickly, uses technology to enhance job performance. Working knowledge of SQL Server systems, components and tools. Aptify Association Management System, Microsoft Dynamics, AWS SDK and SharePoint knowledge a plus.
