Mid-level DevOps Engineer

Our Client is a Billion Dollar start-up unicorn that focuses on Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery solutions. Since established in 2007 they have grown to about 1000 employees with over 10 offices around the world.

They currently seeking multiple junior to mid-level engineers to join their team based in Rochester, due to growth.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Work alongside Datto's engineer teams to create and deliver stable, scalable, and secure automated deployments
  • Design and implement solutions for deployment, monitoring, alerting, and security
  • Facilitate continuous and automated deployments of Datto software
  • Create and maintain documentation surrounding our software builds and deployments
  • Think out of the box and solve complex deployment challenges
Preferred Skills & Experience:
  • 2+ Years experience with Linux administration in, Ubuntu preferred
  • 2+ years programming experience in one of the following languages: Python, Ruby, Perl, PHP, or Java
  • Experience with scripting and system automation (Bash, Awk, etc)
  • Experience with GitLab desirable, or a strong willingness to learn
  • Experience with configuration management tools; Puppet preferred, but Ansible/Chef/Salt acceptable

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills—documentation skills mandatory
  • Good diagnostic expertise including problem investigation, root-cause analysis and resolution skills
  • The desire and ability to see a problem through to a complete solution
  • Ability to quickly acquire new skills and thrive in a team-based environment
  • Ability to leave attitude at the door, be receptive to new ideas, and be able to switch projects at the drop of a hat
