KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ATTITUDES, AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Five or more years of progressive related work experience with data architecting, data mining, large-scale data modeling, and business requirements gathering/analysis.
  • Direct experience in implementing enterprise data management processes, procedures, and decision support.
  • Hands-on knowledge of enterprise repository tools, data modeling tools, data mapping tools, and data profiling tools.
  • Demonstrated expertise with repository creation, and data and information system life cycle methodologies.
  • Experience with business requirements analysis, entity relationship planning, database design, reporting structures, and so on.
  • Understanding of Web services (SOAP, XML, UDDI, WSDL) and Object-Oriented programming experience (.Net, Java etc).
  • Relational model design.
  • Dimensional modeling.
  • ETL processes.
  • Data warehousing and decision support tools and techniques.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently and perform multiple concurrent and diversified tasks effectively.

SPECIFIC TASKS AND DUTIES
  • Logical Business Modeling: function as the business modeler/data analyst for data projects and initiatives, creating logical business models that are used to generate physical data models and database schema.
  • Metadata Management: create and maintain metadata management capability to integrate data dictionaries with the enterprise business glossary.
  • Data Warehouse Design: function as the lead analyst for data warehousing and master data management projects and initiatives, identifying source systems and mapping them to the enterprise model to support data integration.
  • Project Coordination: function as the project manager, coordinator, researcher or lead employee for data projects in support of company initiatives.
  • Improving Effectiveness: suggest and implement process changes to improve the overall data management effectiveness of the organization
  • Evaluating Projects: review data architecture of projects, monitor outcomes and make recommendations.
  • Carrying Out Research: perform directed and independent research on various data management subjects and submit summaries and recommendations.
