This individual will lead all planning and deployment aspects (risks, issues, actions) of customer projects, in a particular geographic area, with focus on one or more clients concentrating on end-to-end technology project delivery management of one or more projects deployments in market in accordance with the Internet of Things (IOT) product portfolio. This person will be responsible for cross-functional delivery utilizing multiple internally and externally focused organizations.  Must have the ability to discuss product requirements with the customers and clearly document them for the Product Management team. Ensure products and solutions are fit for purpose (meet requirements) and ready for service (supportable). The PM may be the principal customer liaison (program or project level) and must be able to manage concurrent projects adeptly. Must ensure that the projects are initiated, defined, setup, executed and deployed to achieve the benefits expected by internal and external key stakeholders whilst managing on-time delivery and quality parameters. Person will manage the project scope and budget, and monitor the expenditure and costs against delivered and realized benefits as the project progresses.
 
The PM must have the ability to work independently and remotely to perform initial project planning, lead the management of customer relationships during pilot and rollout efforts, assist in radio frequency range/coverage testing, and supervise network installations.
 
The PM will also be responsible for managing customer issues and will oversee the development and scheduling of ongoing training for direct and indirect customers for the use of IoT products and back-end systems.  Person will prepare hand-off plans to customer at the conclusion of the deployment. The PM will be called upon to interface with internal customers (Sales, Product Management and Product Development organizations in particular) on product and systems improvements or upsell opportunities.
 
Responsibilities:    1.   Interface with customer, supplier and contractor installation teams during installation. Work with and support outside contractors, supplier and customer installers to ensure project deployment timeliness and quality. Assist in documentation of project objectives, actions and as-completed materials, and all contracted reports as outlined in each project's deliverables list.
  1. Supervise on-going project deployment activities for contracted customers and assist as needed in all phases of deployment of a project.  Deployments vary in scope and may include multiple, parallel implementations requiring coordination of various teams, contractors and the customer, including but not limited to field (RF) engineers, IT staff, supply chain, contracting and finance staff.
  2. Lead project status meetings with customers and management as part of project deployment. Document and communicate all project issues, potential solutions and recommended actions to the Regional Engagement Manager or Client Delivery Executive.
  3. Must be knowledgeable of project scope and contract requirements, customer union contracts (if applicable), training programs, local and national rules and local radio frequency regulations related to project activities.
 
Qualifications:       1.   Bachelor of Science in engineering (electrical or computer science preferred). Advanced degree desired, MBA a bonus.  Equivalent experience may be considered.
  1. 5+ years direct large-scale, multi-phase project management, preferably for deployment of telecommunications networks (preferably wireless) and/or enterprise-scale software systems. Experience doing either of these for an utility company is a plus.
  2. Demonstrated leadership, analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills. The successful candidate will be able to describe multiple business situations where these skills have been leveraged.
  3. Must possess extensive experience leading IoT product / initiative delivery.
  4. Experience in M2M and/or IoT product management is a plus.
  5. Must possess very good written and verbal communication skills.
  6. Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple tasks and concurrent projects. Our client's networks are in great demand and the PM must be able to coordinate multiple projects in varying degrees of deployment.
  7. Experience in personal computer operations and use of word processing, project management, Microsoft Project, spreadsheet programs plus experience with off-the-shelf and special-purpose test programs.
  8. Ability to travel as much as 75% of the time, principally in the Northeastern part of the America; initially focused in New York City.
  9. Experience and knowledge of gas, water and electric utility meter reading and related distribution automation technologies is desirable.
  10. Technical training and knowledge of radio frequency equipment used in planning and installing radio network equipment and multiple wired/wireless wide area networks is also desirable.
  11. Possess a valid driver's license and a US passport.
