Position Overview
  • The Senior Interaction Designer will own the end-to-end design, layout, and stylistic implementation of the Pinnacle platform: the company's enterprise self-service trafficking and analytics interface.
  • The individual in this highly visible role will be responsible for all graphical and interactive aspects of the website - how it looks and operates - as well as ongoing design and iteration of the interface.
  • The candidate will have at least seven years professional experience designing responsive web interfaces for both mobile and web environments, and be expert in applying user-centered design principles based on empirical evidence. A strong background in HTML, JavaScript, and CSS is required, as well as has hands-on experience coding in object-oriented web frameworks such as Angular and React. Familiarity with popular open-source packages like Bootstrap and Highcharts preferred.
  • Bonus: s/he understands the ad-tech ecosystem - companies, trends, and news, including domains like: ad verification, campaign delivery reporting & analytics, performance vs. brand advertising, ad serving, attribution, cross-device matching, and programmatic media.
  • We work in agile teams here, so communication skills are critical. You will be working closely with product managers and developers, and will cooperate on efforts around requirements gathering, user testing, prototype design and implementation, and UAT/troubleshooting. We are a research-driven team, so you will be performing interactive experiments, user research, and preparing frequent prototypes.

Job Responsibilities
  • Lead all design and user interaction efforts for the Pinnacle platform: the company's enterprise analytics and trafficking interface, informed by market analysis, customer feedback and requirements, and user research
  • Collaborate with Pinnacle product and engineering teams in an agile framework to design user interfaces that are fast, intuitive, modern, mobile-responsive, and beautiful
  • Create and deliver assets that are polished and easily digestible for internal developers to implement: from static mock-ups to click-through prototypes with sample code & CSS
  • Implement and maintain a Pinnacle web style guide that governs all aspects of UI design: colors, fonts, charts, and functionality of Angular modules and components
  • Plan and mentor the work of other interaction designers; work closely with web developers to ensure interactive components are implemented and functioning as expected
  • Conduct ongoing research on Pinnacle customers, using both empirical and qualitative methods: communicate ideas through flows, wireframes, and prototypes.
 
Minimum Qualifications
  • Online portfolio for review
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience designing interactive web interfaces using the latest mobile-first, responsive design technologies and best practices
  • Thorough knowledge of user-centered design principles with expertise in how to apply them
  • Experience creating front-end style guides, brand guidelines, visual designs.
  • Hands-on experience developing UI components using responsive layouts in the following web technologies: HTML, CSS, Angular Bootstrap, JavaScript, jQuery, React
  • At least 5 years of experience in customer strategy, user research, customer experience design and/or product design. Experience applying user-centered design and testing methodologies, subsystems, usability, and web accessibility standards; devising and conducting design workshops with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Passion and desire to work with an incredible team at an innovative leader in the ad tech space
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Angular, Core UI, JS, jQuery, and open-source charting libraries like D3 or Highcharts
  • Experience working in agile development methodologies and JIRA
  • Experience using UI prototyping tools such as Axure, Balsamiq, and Zeplin
  • Understanding of the ad tech space and business concepts
  • Ability to work with and present to internal and external customers to find solutions to shared challenges
  • Highly organized with a rigorous attention to detail, a drive for excellence, and a positive "can-do” approach
  • Bachelor's in Graphic Design, HCI, or related field - OR - 3+ years' additional experience
  • Proven ability to balance multiple priorities
