Senior Network Engineer - Juniper

Pay Rate : $ 115,000.00 - 130,000.00 /Year
Under the general guidance, the successful candidate will primarily be responsible for maintaining good operations and optimizing our global network. As part of the Network Engineering team, you will also be responsible for working with solutions architects to provide solid and supportable engineering solutions for unique customer applications. As part of a third tier escalation group backing up the 24 x 7 NOC and first tier operations engineering groups, you will potentially be working nonstandard shifts for extended periods

REQUIREMENTS:
  • BA in Computer Engineering or related subject and ten years' experience, or fifteen years of field experience at a similar level.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication abilities, including superb English grammar and spelling. You will be writing a significant amount of both internal and public documentation, including operational case studies. You must also have a high comfort level with creating and presenting publicly.
  • Solid understanding of JunOS on both the M/T/MX and EX/QFX platforms, JNCIA required. IOS/IOS-XR or EOS as a second language preferred.
  • The usual run of operating systems and utility programs, including demonstrated use of MS Office/Visio
  • Solid understanding of IPv4 and IPv6 at the wire level, demonstrated proficiency in decoding tcpdump .pcap files using the tools of your choice.
  • Advanced understanding of Multiprotocol BGP, including traffic engineering, failure mode analysis and multiple-asn traffic optimization.
  • Solid understanding of OSPF-TE and the relationship of MPLS LSP to IGP
  • Solid understanding of VPLS/L3VPN/EVPN delivered over MPLS and OVSDB over IP underlay
  • Understanding of PIM IS-IS IGMP ICMP V6ND ANYCAST STP NFS CIFS and a whole lot of other buzzwords.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and understand SLAX. Proficiency in PERL/Python/SLAX desired.
  • Understanding of basic optical networking fundamentals at the physical layer
