Oracle Applications Database Administrator

Primary Responsibilities
In the role of Oracle Applications Database Administrator, the candidate will be asked to support multiple Oracle E-Business environments:
  • Respond to and resolve applications reliability and performance issues
  • Proactively monitor, maintain, tune database for optimal performance, and provide capacity planning 
  • Open, manage, escalate and resolve Oracle Service Requests with Oracle Support
  • Analyze root cause of issues and provide solutions.
  • Work with DBA support team to ensure system availability, performance, and patch levels
  • Document and maintain all DBA processes and procedures
  • Administer and maintain security policies and procedures 
  • Provide technical guidance to development and DBA team for the Oracle Database, Oracle E-Business Suite and Oracle Fusion Middleware
  • Attend team and project meetings and provide status reports to management.
  • Perform clones of EBS instances and/or associated post-clone activities
  • Provide assistance to Fusion Middleware admin for resolving technical issues
  • Maintain disaster recovery systems and perform regular system backups to protect integrity of financial and other data
  • Evaluate new trends and technologies and provide best practices and recommendations
  • Be available 24x7 for production on-call, participate in on-call rotation and weekend maintenance work
 
Required Qualifications
  • The ideal candidate will have over 7+ years' experience in an Oracle EBS Application DBA role (including R12.2) and over 7 years' experience with Oracle RDBMS
  • A strong understanding of the R12.2 architecture and the various application tiers and database tier components, Concurrent Manager processing and troubleshooting processes
  • Experience with 12.2 technology stack including WebLogic, SSL/TLS certificates, and security focused user administration
  • Experience with cloning test and development environments from Production Oracle Applications environment.
  • Experience in applications system administration and troubleshooting
  • Performance tuning experience with EBS 12.2 Applications services and Oracle 12.1 database; database wait events, top SQL statements, and WebLogic and OHS components
  • Customer service, time management and personal motivation is required.
  • Adherence to processes and understanding the importance of documentation is required.
  • Experience operating in a UNIX environment and writing shell scripts.
