Senior Enterprise Architect (College Park, MD)

Responsibilities
  • Review existing artifacts, to include previous stakeholder interviews, capability models, IT road map, and Agency EA, to build a holistic view of the organization's strategy, processes, information, and IT assets. Use this knowledge to ensure that the business goals and IT are in alignment.
  • Create architectural models or views that show how the current and future needs of an organization will be met in an efficient, sustainable, agile, and adaptable manner.
  • Design and implement models and interfaces to provide for present and future cross-functional requirements and interfaces. Identify, assess, and present options for meeting the functional and technical requirements.
  • Work across business and IT groups currently working in silos and be an influencer of the strategic and unified solution.
  • Convert existing requirements into the architecture and design that constitute the blueprint for the final solution.
  • Manage and execute preparation of process models in accordance with the guidelines/conventions of designated process modeling methodology, including creation and maintenance of process descriptions and glossary of terms, to ensure successful project performance.
  • Work with the Data Management Lead to identify domains with like capabilities that should be broken out into Data Standards workgroups within the center.
  • Conduct Technical Solutions Assessments and Trade-off Analysis.
  • Ensure that the solutions proposed are compatible and in compliance with the organization and other applicable Federal Standards for security, interoperability, accessibility and optimized data management (e.g., sharing, analytics, etc.)
  • Work collaboratively with team leads and supervisors to meet goals and objectives.
  • Own project deliverables such as an Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) and support quality processes by reviewing team documents and following standard quality processes.
  • Prepare executive briefings for client and senior management as needed
  • Perform status reporting on project progress, milestones, and decisions using various tools such as SharePoint, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.

Required Experience
  • Fifteen (15) or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Ten (10) years of practical experience with different IT stacks and implementations.
  • Experience as a solutions architect in various IT domains
  • Experience as an Enterprise Architect (federal agencies preferred)
  • Working knowledge of software development methodologies like Agile Scrum and Waterfall
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload based on needs of the client.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and frequent changes in priorities
  • Self-Starter, but able to work well in a team environment

Preferred Experience
  • Experience with Regulatory and/or Scientific data
  • Experience working in the Federal Government
  • Experience with Troux or other EA modeling software

Education and Training
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other related technical fields
  • FEAC or other EA certifications preferred
  • Additional IT/architecture certifications preferred
