Lead .NET Developer

Lead .NET Developer

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development team in the modernization of an existing legacy system, moving to a Windows platform and utilizing the .NET technology stack. The development team includes developers, DBA's, system integrators, and system administrators.
  • Act as main point of contact for the client technical and business resources for technical questions – schedule, structure and drive meetings with the client. This can include demos, JAD sessions, or other technical discussions.
  • Adhere to an Agile Scrum methodology for development and participate in all ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, Sprint Retrospective)
  • Develop level of effort estimates and participate in overall Release Planning.
  • Ensure quality software delivery via adhering to established development standards on the project such as performing code reviews. Help to modify or establish new standards as needed.
  • Assign work to the development team per Sprint and manage the progress of the work via the schedule and JIRA. This includes any Technical Tasks that need to be accomplished.
  • Work with the Functional Lead to review User Stories and Epics and triage defects.
  • Understand business logic currently written in stored procedures, C Programs, and UNIX Shell scripts and implement in the application tier.
  • Develop as needed based on the demands of the release.
  • As needed, evaluate technology products and solutions, develop recommendations, and document analysis.
  • As needed, contribute to proofs-of-concept.

Qualifications
*Must have a Secret Clearance

Required Experience
  • Ten (10) years of Software Development experience
  • Three (3) years of Development Team Leadership
  • Experience supervising and mentoring technical resources
  • Experience with .NET technology stack, including WPF, WCF, LINQ
  • Experience with modern DB systems, such as SQL Server, Sybase
  • Experience with TFS
  • Experience Integrating with COTS/GOTS solutions
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Thorough knowledge of unit testing, mocks, and testing frameworks
  • Knowledge of Windows environment, shell scripts, and IIS
  • Ability to work well with others as part of a large team
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Preferred Experience
  • Legacy systems conversion or modernization
  • Knowledge of C/C++ managed and unmanaged code
  • Knowledge of UNIX environments
  • Experience with JIRA

Education and Training
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent/relevant advanced degree
