Senior Project Manager (Infrastructure)

Currently seeking an experienced Infrastructure Senior Project Manager to join the Program Delivery Team in Houston. The Program Delivery team works closely with the business and other technology divisions to deliver infrastructure services to company. 

Infrastructure Technology is responsible for: 
  • Managing the company technology infrastructure
  • Supporting, maintaining and enhancing existing business systems
  • Delivering and deploying new systems, technologies and services
 Key responsibilities include: 
  • Project management of infrastructure projects and coordination of engineering infrastructure resources across the globe
  • Deliver projects following a defined project management methodology similar to PMI, Prince 2, etc.  Inception & Definition/Plan/Design & Test/Build/Closeout
  • Communicate and collaborate across time-zones with management, sponsors, architects, team members to deliver timely solutions. 
  • Budgeting and estimating correctly to delivery projects on budget
  • Leading and inspiring teams to successful project completion
  • Managing project risk, creating appropriate mitigation plans, and effectively communicating at the right levels. 
  • Work across a range of technology platforms and strategic projects including:
    • Build, expansion and move of offices and data centers
    • Rollout of strategic technical infrastructure to all businesses such as WAN/LAN Improvements, Technology refresh, Storage Replacement Projects, etc
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Global Delivery Experience – Previous experience working with resources and team members across global timezones to deliver quality results.
  • Excellent communication skills – Excellent verbal and written capability.  Ability to deal with vendors, present to management, liaise with internal clients, coordinate technical staff etc. Effective, concise, and timely communication at all levels.
  • Ability to manage expectations - will need to understand the requirements of clients, expectations of project sponsors and the capabilities of technical staff and to manage these competing drivers to deliver a balanced solution.
  • Ownership, pro-activity & drive - must take ownership for the success of the project, pro-actively identifying impediments & addressing them, motivating the team & resolving issues which impede their delivery.
  • Project management certification qualification preferred- PMP, Prince 2, Agile
  • Vendor Management – Experience managing a wide range of vendors to deliver projects including staff under managed service contracts.
  • A broad technology background - with good understanding of Windows, UNIX, DBA, backup, voice, networks, storage, desktop, etc
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and to tight timelines
  • Experience with office and data center relocations
  • Experience managing people and forming solid working relationships
  • Be self-motivated, able to work effectively within a team and open to after-hours and weekend work as well as travel.
