System Administration Manager

To manage our team of Systems Administrators, we're looking for someone who's enthusiastic about consistently delivering terrific end-user support. 

Our group covers all end-user technology (desktops, telephony, mobile devices, messaging, videoconferencing/AV, remote computing, permissions) and a growing mix of back-end systems (physical and virtual servers, networks, storage).  As the group's manager, you should be equipped (and keen) to dive into the details of anything on that landscape, while remaining focused on making your team as efficient and effective as possible.

Responsibilities:
  • With vision and analytics, continually optimize the team's procedures and operations so that it runs like clockwork.
  • Develop a team culture that's unfailingly focused on superb end-user support.
  • Handle escalated incidents swiftly and thoroughly.
  • Collaborate with systems engineering to ensure a tight feedback loop between end-user experience and engineering priorities.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably with some leadership/management experience.
  • Evidence of spotting root causes, thinking systematically, and implementing reliable solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to adeptly assess and fix technical problems.
  • Unambiguous passion for technology.
  • A spirit that's eager to tackle knotty, urgent issues and that wouldn't shy away from setting up a printer.
  • Programming skills beyond simple scripting are a plus.
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree and an excellent academic background from a top-tier university.
